PETCOCK tool that works...

Hi. This is in reference to a thread that I read that's stuck in my head... (sorry, just watched 'The Lorax')

Anyway, someone had wrote that they would love a T-handle fuel shutoff tool... I knew I had one, but where? Found it... pics attached...

Here's a potential purchase link... Log Lighters-Gas Valves : Blue Flame Universal Key

And another that's 12" long (I wouldn't buy from here... $13 + $10 shipping, how can shipping cost that much...) But the idea of being able to shut the fuel off without lifting the tank... hummmm... 12" Universal Gas Key - Chrome | WoodlandDirect.com: Log Sets - Gas, Dante Products

My last search was just for "gas key". Also, there are at least 2 sizes I am seeing, 1/4" & 5/16". Mine is the 5/16" and it fits... I have not measured the petcock.

Enjoy...

Another way is to screw on into the existing hole the black plastic tap from a Varadero petcock...

The petcock itself is 8mm (~.315") I'm surprised the 5/16" (.3125") fits should be JUST too small

Hmm may have to put a switch on like Wicky has, 3D printer project haha

I'll be pulling my tank as part of this winter's TBC list now that we have icy spots with salt between for road surfaces and will have to verify but I swear I us a 1/4" drive 10mm Metrinch (flat versus corner bearing + fits metric & inch) socket on a 1/4"-drive wobble extension driven by a thumb ratchet to operate the petcock (love that term for a fuel valve). Unless it was the 8mm Metrinch socket?

I was downstairs yesterday taking the tank off, promise on my '98 it was an 8mm :)

My 98 is 8mm on the shut off. A 10 mm is like tossing a hotdog down a hallway on the knob.
