Overheating problem found!

Recently, started noticing that my Superhawk was running much hotter than normal in stop and go traffic.

Checked the fan fuse, and sure enough it was blown. Bought a pack of fuses, replaced it and let it heat up again. Unfortunately, the fan never came on as it started getting hotter than normal again.

Checked the new fuse and it was blown. Put in a yet another, turned it on, and it blew too!

Now I started worrying that I had a bad fan, or a short somewhere. But searching through the forums, came across a post where someone bought a new fan, only to find a piece of rock jamming the old fan up - which was causing the fuses to blow.

Went out and tried turning the fan by hand. Sure enough, it was stuck - but after using a bit of force back and forth, some sticker weed seeds (I think) popped free, and the fan started spinning freely again!

Took another long while to find the thermo switch, so I could unplug the cable to ground and check the operation of the fan without actually running it forever. For reference, it's towards the bottom left edge of the right radiator. Can get to it without removing the fairing (helps to take out 2 right fairing bolts, just for a little more room to see things).

With the ignition in the on position (don't have to actually start the bike), connect a jumper from the disconnected thermo switch wire to ground... and the fan started spinning. Yay! :D

Just thought I'd share - in case it might help someone else troubleshoot their fan in the future.
