'Nuther New Guy
Hi,
Greetings from frozen North. I wanted to thank everyone who posts all the great info here. This forum is an incredible resource. Boring bits: Got my ticket to ride in 1977. Currently located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Good riding for maybe 3-4 months a year. My last bike (still have her) is an old 1979 750F bought brand new back in the day. Fun (for me anyway) bits: The 750 has finally been replaced with a cherry 2005 Superhawk with 8150 kms (~5100 miles). The PO added 2Bros carbon fibre cans, stainless steel brake lines, Corbin seat, a K&N filter and she's been rejetted. The front tire is the original D204 but the rear has a new D209 Qualifier. There's not a scratch on the bike including the bottoms of the pegs. I can hardly wait for our latest mini ice age to retreat so I can wring her out. Cheers -Darcy |

Welcome Aboard! Where the photo's of the new arrival? ;)

Welcome Darcy, I live in Calgary but go to Red Deer and Edmonton quite often in the summer. We'll have to hook up for a ride sometime.
|
Thanksl for the warm welcome. Yeah g_clarke, a 'group' ride this summer would be great...when is summer happening again?
I picked up the bike in Calgary area (Airdrie) last week and the temp in Edmonton was -27 but in Airdrie 3 hours later it was +9 celcius. We had to shovel a path and lock the truck in 4x just to navigate the PO's back lane. Photos of the bike will be posted as soon as I can figure out how it's done :noob:. Anyone know if the CCT and R/R issues were still problems by the 2005 model year? -D |
Welcome.

Get some new shoes and ride her hard! When you're ready for fork upgrades send me a PM. |
Welcome to the site.

I know which bike that was, I was watching it on kijiji for a while. I even tried to buy the seat off the guy and give him my stocker to put on for the sale but he wouldn't go for it. You will love the bike when you get to ride it, if the snow ever melts and we'll hook up in the summer for a ride.

I can hardly wait to post bike pics once it's out of my ugly, cold garage. -D |
