Noob saying hi...

Hey Fellas,
I just recently bought a 98 Super Hawk with 21k on the odo for 2800.00! I think I got a good deal... It's pretty much stock except for the Vance & Hines SS2R exhaust. Never been dropped either! :) Anyway, I figured I'd drop everyone a line and say hi and wish everyone a happy new year! I hope It's going well for you all!

Welcome aboard!... How do you like the Vance & hines on there? I have a CF set of them but haven't installed them yet.

When I picked u the bike, I drove it about 70 miles starting with a full tank of gas. I was VERY surprised to see that when I got home that I still had MORE than a 1/2 tank left! Either I should be really happy that my hawk get's good mpg, or worried that there could be some mechanical issue with it. When I picked it up, i knew it's going to need a new chain and sprocket, lowered ALOT(damn being asian), and a carb cleaning. The previous owner let it sit for about 7 months. But it was still good enough to drive home with the choke half way out.

The exhaust sounds awesome! My mechanic said it needs to be dialed in (i'm assuming rejetted) because he said it didn't sound right... could just need the carb cleaning... we'll find out. As far as the exhaust, It's not the high mount, which I love the way it looks, but plan on putting on some saddlebags for carrying gear.

I could go on forever about this damn bike... i LOVE it!!! I'm so glad I don't have a girlfriend right now, I'm planning on dropping some serious $ on it!

Anyway, thanks for the warm welcome fellas! I'm glad to be here!
