Hello everyone!
I bought a used (and abused) superhawk last weekend and have been enjoying the last couple days of my commute! Its a great bike but it is in need of some work. I've been wanting a superhawk for years and I am looking forward to riding and fixing it up.
Its a 1998 with a corbin seat, helibars, two-bros exhaust, and a copper paint job. The paint seems like a quick/cheap paint job to cover up the damage to the fiberglass when it went down. One of the heli-bars also got bent but is useable for now. I can live with cosmetic imperfections for now because I am just thrilled to get out there and enjoy that wonderful engine. What a revelation after riding old 70's era cafe racers!
The only urgent repair that I need to address soon is a pulsing front brake. I've been reading some post here that seem to imply new rotors are the only sure-fire fix. I think that there may be some other "issues" with the front forks that the previous owner did not disclose to me... oh well. My plan is to fix her right and slowly add upgrades and improvements.
I am in Loveland CO so if there are any other forum members in my area that are interested in going for a ride sometime just let me know.
