New Memeber - 2005 SH!

Greetings, new Super Hawk owner saying hello. I picked the bike up a couple of weeks ago, a 2005 with ~9,000 miles, mint, slightly modified (tail light, turn signals, and things like that). I am an “old timer” who has been riding bikes since I was 12 years old. Started out on dirt bikes such as Suzuki, Pentons now simply called KTMs, Bultacos now gone L, and Yamahas. Added street bikes when I got my license RD350, CB750F (16 valve), Harley Café Racer XLCR. Had children and gave it all up for 15-years, then got back into it with my son a few years ago with dirt bikes, and now street bikes as well. He is my favorite riding partner!

Our stable includes a 1984 VT500FT Ascot restored together, VFR800i RWB edition (I always wanted one when I was younger, but could not afford one), 1988 NT650 Hawk mint – very cool, a Harley TC88 Superglide, and the Super Hawk. I guess that I like v-Twins. This forum is great. Based on what I have learned here, I have the following mods queued up, parts are here or on the way:

F4i front brakes and MC from ebay – the rebuilt kits ordered
EBC HH pads front and rear
Galfer lines front and rear
RaceTech .90 fork springs / seals…
AllBalls steering and wheel bearings
Dunlop Sportmax front tire to match the new rear tire from PO
PAIR removal kit
Hotcams shim kit for a valve job
Staintune high mounts (already has K&N and jet kit), will be selling D&Ds at some point
F4i shock will be sent to Jamie to rebuild soon
Still need to address sprocket and chain, I will get to it…

My goal is to have all of this completed within 60-days so it will be ready to go when the weather gets consistently warm. I have about 5-miles on this bike myself and I can tell that it is gonna’ be fun! Thank you for all the help, I hope that I can be of help back at some point. Pics will be posted along the way. JB

Welcome aboard. Sounds like some nice rides you've owned. Looking forward to some pics of your new toy.

Welcome to the forum. From the past bikes you listed, it sounds like we are of the same vintage. Started riding in the late '60's or early '70's?

Welcome. Take your bike to a track day near you. you will have a ball. I got into it last year after riding various bikes for about 25 years and have loved every trip to the track I can fit in. :)

There are those who believe in the stock CCT's I've found. Many MANY miles on them with no issue. Welcome to the forum, don't get too overwhelmed with info and opinions!
