Greetings!

I just found myself another project bike and it happens to be an '03 VTR1000. I worked out a deal with the previous owner to trade my old bike (1997 CBR900RR Fireblade) for his Superhawk, Straight Up!

My bike was not the best example of a RRV but it was a good looker. I had just finished building that bike about 2-3 weeks ago so it was time to move on. Here is what I traded away

Okay on to the Hawk....

This bike was hit. The story was that he was at a stoplight in a group of bikes and when he was turning left another bike came flying up the line out of control and crashed in to his left side knocking him and the bike over on its right side hard. It put a serious hurt on the right can, right frame slider, wind screen, both hand levers, right bar end, tail light broken and a bunch more fairing damage. Here is it as I got it.

The bike has 23000 miles but seems super strong. I am still getting used to it. The bike used to be blue and for some reason someone painted it this stupid orange... NOT A FAN. Thankfully I have plans to paint it.

Here is where I start to pick your brains... This bike is an '03 but when I google the 2003 model there are some with three headlights and I only have 1 headlight. What are the variations between models? I understand that in 2001 the clocks got a revamp with digital fuel, dual trip, clock and temp readouts.

Sorry this was so long but I have WAY more questions and reading to complete here.

Cheers
Tupp

Will do

Since I need to replace my fairings will the RC51 plastics fit without modification?

Not a rats chance in hell, 2 totally different bikes.

Can you post up a pic of said 3 headlight VTRs? And you're just flipping this one too, right (fix 'em up & resell for profit)?
