I'm buying a 05 SuperHawk so I figured I'd better find a good forum. I didn't see a place to introduce yourself so I'll do it here.

My name is Eddie, the SuperHawk will be my first(ish) motorcycle, I had one at my disposal for a while but I didn't own it. I'm in the Marine Corps, I'm from Georgia but stationed in South Carolina. Anyone near my area?

I look forward to learning a lot about my new bike!

This place is THE SHIT!!!! they have a ton of good stuff for people who are new to biking or just new to the superhawk.

You say you've ridden your friend's SuperHawk, then you are familiar with the torque. Power delivery is very predictable, but the front end likes to come up in 1st gear under hard acceleration.

I live next door to Camp Pendleton. The Marines started a motorcycle training program on base a short time ago for all levels of riders. Too many guys were surviving Iraq, but not surviving on the street after coming home. If you haven't taken a course already, check at your base or look up the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) course in your area.

Have fun, and I almost forgot, congratulations on getting the best color.:congrats:

Welcome aboard crash trash! Fellow crashcrewman here. How long you been in? I got out in '03, last duty station was Quantico and I was at Iwakuni before that.

I've been in since '02 been all over except Japan lol. Was gonna head there for my 3rd enlistment but the recruiting team saw otherwise.

As for the MSF course, I'm already scheduled for it and the advanced sport bike course. The MSF course is required to ride on base.

And I've ridden my friends Superhawk a lot, I really like it and it suits me well. Just gotta find a good lower fairing and I'm set. Sharkskinz is being a little shiesty with my order atm, so I'm thinking of going elsewhere, I've already done my research so no need for the Do a search smiley :)

It's called "Titanium", the only color in '05. I like to call it Stealth Gray.

Welcome, glad you're back! I don't think there's a vet or active on here that doesn't moan about the fact - well you know the facts. Don't become one of them. You've already taken the first best step. You've invested in a very powerful but predictable tool. Learn to use it wisely.

If you get good at it - it will keep you alive. Just like some of the other equipment that you've learned to use.

Why are you painting it? And BTW

Where are the fucking pictures?

Hotbrakes 02-12-2009 05:10 PM

I bet we know some of the same people. You'll have to PM me a list of the salty dogs there. I've been trying to find my old roommate, Lira. Know him? I think he was an instructor at Goodfellow for a while. Another good friend was Bruce who also taught out there. He had a Duc 998 and we used to ride all over, we even doubled up one time...and not on a bike, hehe.
