Hello Superhawk forum members!
I’m proud to present me as a dutch new Superhawk forum member. I’m not really new to Honda bike’s because I’m collecting them almost all my life…I’m a so called super Honda freak…My friends call me “the legend” My Honda Collection now contains 2x Honda Dax, one in parts and the other one in original A-condition (CT-70 in the US) 1x Honda SS-50Z-K3 (I’ve got it from my 16th (34 now), and I’m restoring it now, to bring it back in it’s original state, after all these years bringing me all everywhere, problem free!) 1x Honda ZB50 (not runner, but will be soon and will be sold, I need space…) 1x Honda VTR1000F Firestorm I don’t where all this Honda fanatism came from but it’s in my blood now and won’t go away anymore. I love the perfection of a Honda in general, everything is superb engineered: fits perfect, looks good, right material choice etc etc. (yes I’m a mechanical engineer..hahahahaha!) BUT, I finally bought me a Firestorm, the bike I’ve been dreaming of it since it came out in ‘97. But after long waiting, a nice one came on my way, in the colour I always dreamed of: the black-red one. It’s a ’98 one with a 2004 engine with only 6000km on it! This motor swap was done by the last owner because the old engine gave up at 43000km, due to the, you all know everything about, CCT failure! (I’m still worried about the fact if the 2004 original CCT’s are problem/failure free. I.hope so otherwise I’ll buy some manual APE’s immediately) I hope to read and learn a lot on the forum about the “poor mans ducati”! |
Welcome aboard! I always loved that color combo as well. Post up some pictures!

 welcome to the forum, I agree just replace the cct's sooner than later, although I would say you don't have to worry until you get over 25,000 km.

:welcome:
And be careful, she's got a little more Torque than those 50's. |
Howdy! I did my CCTs before I rode it, as it was a build from the ground up, why not. This BBS was even more helpful than the factory service manual.
Thanks Guys! |
welcome. Nice bikes

thanx all for the warm welcome!
Has anybody some pictures of dismantled original CCT's? I had a discussion with some friends about modifying the originals. In other words, make the original CCT's manual... Has anybody any experience with this? |
welcome
