New guy saying hi
I was looking at a pair of Jardine pipes on eBay and the fellow seller ended up referring me to the forum.
I've always wanted a SuperHawk ever since I followed a guy home to ask what kind of bike he had that made the sweetest sound I'd heard since Bike Week in Elkart Lake, WI when I was a kid. I currently have a nice Custom (Harley replica, in Avatar) but it's going up for sale once I get it back from the shop. My wife says she wants another Harley or else, but I figure if I can find a used Hawk for cheap it'll be my bike and she doesn't have to ride on the back if she doesn't want to. I think I'm golden as long as I pour the driveway first;) I've 4 kids ages 6-13 who all ride bikes. We're not racing, just having fun. So I'm probably gonna lurk around for tips and tricks, browse the classifieds and chime in from time to time with questions. There are some really nice looking bikes on here and if history has taught me anything it's that Honda is the most reliable brand out there. We have several in our stable now and looking to add one more! |
welcome to the forum. Super hawks have a few easily adressed flaws but other than that they are rock solid bikes. also my hawk is much more fun than the 3 or 4 harleys ive ridden

This site is great resource, I've only been actively participating for about a month but I learned a lot in just the short time. You're right about the sound. Even folks only remotely familiar recall the exhaust note this bike makes. Hope you have a lot of fun.

I ended up buying a 2004 with only 5800 miles on it. I had to have it shipped from MA to me in WI, but it wasn't a big deal at all.
(In fact I just had an old '86 Honda FatCat shipped from TX a few months earlier and was extreamly happy with both transactions.) It looks like the previous owner has done several mods to it already but I'll be looking to verify he's done the important ones or else I'll be doing them myself. |
Welcome! Nice looking bike.
What kind of swingarm is that? I've never seen one cut out in the middle... seems like it would be a little flexy. |
That appears to be a stock swinger with a safety sticker down the middle.....

After your comment, I saw the sticker right away. But it was an optical illusion thing for me. I looked at it more than once, wondering why anyone would do that. With the gold wheels, the orange part at the top looked as if you were looking through to the wheel, and the bottom white part appeared silver to me, like it was the boxed-in section of the cut-out. And of course the black sticker looked like the tire seen through the cut-out. Kind of like one of those optical illusion illustrations that can be seen either way... or I'm just dumb. |
Welcome....I think this is one of the best all rounder motorcycle Honda has made...If you do anything, pay special attention to the cam chain adjusters......I have bought many a parts bikes because of this particular failure...

Welcome aboard! Hope you enjoy your SuperHawk :D

from one Honda junky to another = Welcome.
I really like that Black & Gold combo. |
Another welcome, I have only been on this forum for a short time but have learned alot from it. I really like the gold wheels and may cheat and have mine painted or powdered. Might I suggest the Kreiger cct when you get that far. But get that far SOON!
