New guy here...question about changing the front signals, I searched already :)

Hey guys,

I would really like to put some mini stalk blinkers on the bike but when I tried to remove the stockers the wires are very tight on the signal. Do I just yank them out??? The left side especially is very tight with almost no slack in the wiring. I'm afraid of ruining the wiring by just pulling it out of the light... Please let me know the proper way to remove the stock front blinkers.

Also what mini stalk signals work best on this bike as far as a perfect fit?

Thanks!

Look inside the firing and I think you'll find a wire loom holder. Very thin and easy to bend. My '02 had plugs which could be disconnected. Short of that you'll have to cut the wires.

Yes those should work. I'd solder them

early models each side has three bullet connectors in the wires, later models have a plug. The wires come through the fairing on the inside and then a few inches later have the plugs or connectors. then the 10mm nut on the inside holds them on I believe.

Thanks! There is very little room/slack in the wire to even really see how they are connected to the blinker. I eventually gave up... I'm afraid of just yanking on the wire and hoping the wires come out of the blinker. If I do have the older style, will the wire yank out of the bullet connectors? Should I just pull hard and hope for the best?

No, you should reach on the inside of the fairing, unbend the metal tab that holds the wires forward and in place.. then there will be plenty of slack to undo the connectors. Just feel around the inside or look up from underneath to see where the wires go to find the metal tab.

Pulling hard will only break your light, fairing, wiring, or any combination of the three.

Sounds like a plan, thanks! I will try this next weekend.
