Need help tracking down an aftermarket shifter.
 

Thanks to vibrations the primary bolt that holds on my stock shifter decided to back it's self off while cruising down one the funnest roads to ride in Claremore, Oklahoma. Needless to say I made the rest of the remaining 7 mile ride with the shifter dragging the ground and am currently in need of a new shifter lever due to the flat spot in the old one caused by road rash.

I can't seem to find a solid aftermarket one that doesn't have the slop that the OEM has. I saw one herr and emailed the vendor but have yet to receive a responce. So I was wondering if you guys could point me in the rigjt direction . So far Ebay has been my friend in restoring this bike but it failed on this one part.

Your only other option is either rearsets or you can find a spacer bushing to put in there to take up the slop, do a search there is a thread

I'm not calling anyone out by name. Figured the idividual is busy. Was just wondering what my options are. I can machine 1 myself but I am trying to get the bike back on the road asap.

I searched the old threads but they are just that old so availiblity just isn't there anymore.

I've checked that Web site and couldn't find what I am looking for.

My stock shifter has zero slop because of a bronze bushing and shim. I wouldn't trade it for an aftermarket shifter.

If you can grab another stock shifter i can help you with getting the slop out.

Did you also replace the OEM sloppy shaft link ball and socket pivots?
That is one of the advantages of a good aftermarket shifter.

Are you using the Factory pro shifter parts?

If not, try um, then you will know a slick shifting SH

No, although I am sure that would reduce the notch between first and second gear. I just don't have a spare $200 to throw at that part right now.

The FP kit is really worth the bucks and time. Love the smoothness!
