Need a favor from someone who lives near Pascagoula, MS
 

Normally I wouldn't ask this from anyone, but I'd do this for someone in my situation....

I bought an exhaust for a Nissan Altima from a guy who lives near there and he has not come through. He seemed genuine, provided pics and a phone number. Money order was sent and cashed. He does not answer email or phone. Really all I want is my exhaust shipped to me. The guy's name is Richard Avery. The address the mail went to is:



I don't need a confrontation, just a positive confirmation of address, maybe a plate number, and the local police phone number. I'd like to take care of this the correct way first. If that doesn't work we can resort to other means....

Hate seeing a good guy get ripped off. I'm a long way from Ms., but if I can find stuff on this guy on the web, should I post it here or would you rather have a PM? Might help if you posted the phone# he gave you too.

Ok. So i just checked all of my buddies I could think of that live in MS, but it seems like everybody I know from the off road groups live a few hours North of Vancleave MS.

I'll keep checking though, and if I can come up with anybody close, I'll report back.

THanks guys. I had to join the evil Myspace to send the fukker a message. He doesn't seem to answer emails and I know that he's getting on Myspace because it shows his last activity date. I have a couple of leads and will follow up on them tomorrow. Someone local to verify his address is still needed though. I have some names and numbers of friends in the area, the sheriff's office number, and the name and number of the owner of the house where the money order was sent.

If you don't get anywhere with this try the NYS attorney general's office, I am working with them to resolve an issue I am having with a company in Canada that sold me a shoddy fiberglass hood for my '66 - shortly after submitting my complaint I heard from the bozo after many months of no returned calls, emails, etc:

Update: His roommate has been logging into his myspace account and has responded to my message. He informed me that Mr. Rich Avery is actually in the hospital, for what I don't know yet. He says that the exhaust is boxed up in his room and will be shipped out shortly with tracking info. So, I'm standing by to either withdraw or move forward with my "plan of attack".

The hospital/roommate bit sounds like bull sh*t, but the fact you got a response is probably good news. Hope you get the exhaust in a few days. Keep us posted.

I have tracking numbers for all parts and weight of the packages seems to jive with the parts purchased. Delivery date is scheduled for Dec. 1. I think it's all working out. I'll keep you all apprised.

I hear his mouth is wired shut already. It would, at first impression, seem he got into a fight. But it could be a car wreck (he drives a turbo'd Altima - trust me, they don't handle that great) or something else. I try not to make too many assumptions. I'm getting my shit. That's all I really care about at this point.

Turns out Rich was in the hospital. Weird, but true.

Over the last few days I've gotten all the packages containing the gaskets, water pump, and the exhaust came today.

Took awhile, but for the price and the situation I actually have to say that he's a good seller.

Don't know whether the guy was in the hospital or shining you on, but I'm glad to hear you got your stuff. Good on you.
