Welcome to the forum LLoydie! You're right they do ask those questions most of the time. Maybe it's because they have never participated in any forum before??

Where are you from and show us some pics!

I think sometimes folks will read the other threads/posts but not get an answer to their specific question. For example, the CCT topic has been discussed in several different aspects. Sometimes people want to know the percentage of failures, other times they want to know if the sound coming from their engine could be typical of that failure.

In general I agree that it's best to do a search first, but if you don't find what you are looking for then post it up. I don't think there is such a thing as too much information providing the info is good. We have a lot of great folks out here on this forum (certainly the best I subscribe to) so bad info is hard to find!

Your welcome From your post it sounds like you have taken advantage of the many different posted opinions, aspects, technical expertise, new rider experiences posted here on various topics. Very nice you were able to read those different looks and sometimes solutions that fit the issue... Options and choices are good.

Search and post **** tactics are a double edge sword.. While many posts on the same subject can be tiring, It serves several uses.. From, getting a different perspective and look at a issue and solution... (we are all different, an explanation to one may make sense, to another only confuse more.. having many different posts leaves a better chance one of the explanations will help another understand)

If MOD's stifle or restrict only one thread to a question, INTERNET forums would hardly exsist... as well as,, you would only get ONE train of thought or opinion on the topic.. what if that one train of thought is wrong?.. and thats the ONLY thread allowed about it.....

Every board has a personality,, you've seen ours... Hope you can enjoy it

So umm, Pics of your bike or it never existed

could all the posts on the same subject be condensed so the info that people need is easier
and more simple to locate ie have one sticky post with only the best info needed that covers r/r and cct ?
this is one of the better forums i can see that and thats why im here . i didnt mean to offend anyone sorry

Ok how long before Tweety has his say on this. Just don't give him a giant red stamp to put a big "do a search" tag on the wayward neophytes.

Why do I get grief for this huh?! I only go off on newbies that ignore the polite nudges, or answer back in the next post with the same question I just answered...

Actually, lloydievtr does make a good point... Why not make a FAQ for CCT's, one for X, one for Y and have them stickied... Then at least one in ten newbies might take the effort to read them...

What kind of oil should I use? What is a CCT, and what is this R/R thingy? I'm kidding, please don't yell at me.
