Lost and found

Not long ago I lost some new brake pads and had to buy another set.

So, those are gone, but I actually found a set of 50mm clip ons that have a 3" rise. I must have bought them a while ago for my front end swap. I think they are stock bars from a ducati of some kind.

The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. Will be happy to use these.

Ever try the Vesrah RJL pads Jose?

smokinjoe73 03-21-2017 06:45 PM

Yes they are really awesome but they dont know if they make them for stock hawk calipers. Not that it matters since I have cbr caliper but I totally forgot about them in my anger of losing the first pair.

Plus they are way more expensive right? I wanted cheaper since I am doing a front end swap soon and pads will be different.

Oh nevermind they are not super pricey. Will get those for my new setup. I run them on my racebikes and they are the best IMHO

Joe is there any chance you can remember the Ducati model/year of that bike.

Sadly I cant. Before I found them I remember digging up the info somewhere on line but forgot I actually bought them. If I can figure it out I will lyk.

However......I FOUND THE ORIGINAL LOST BRAKE PADS from the start of this thread!!!!

They were in a box with my ball hone and brake disc roloc pads. Cant believe no great mind on here was able to figure that out and tell me. So guess I'll be selling them.

VTR1000F 03-25-2017 06:13 PM

Can we assume this box was clearly marked "brake stuff"?

smokinjoe73 03-25-2017 07:25 PM

Actually, it was just a shoe box sized box of abrasives mostly for brake. I have no idea why I put them there.

Anyway, case is closed pending further evidence......

Hey Joe, (hmmm, sounds like a good title for a song, but I digress) what brand are these no longer missing brake pads and which cbr calipers do they fit?

smokinjoe73 03-25-2017 09:36 PM

EBC HH for a cbr600F4i

I would lyk that. Thanks.

I will try to post up a pic so you could maybe search easier.

So this is what they look like. Like I said I don't know the source bike BUT I think I bought them on fleabay so will try to search on my purchase history for them.

xeris 03-26-2017 07:55 PM

Thank you, that will really help with the search.
Would you be so kind as to take some measurements. Height of the collar that clamps to the fork and the overall rise (from bottom of collar to top of bar).
Many thanks in advance.

smokinjoe73 03-26-2017 08:06 PM

Sure will do

kenmoore 03-27-2017 01:02 AM

Hey Joe,

I have lost my spare ZX10 fork seal !

Do you know where it is cause I sure don't.

Know how you feel !

smokinjoe73 03-27-2017 06:36 AM

Ok Ok we can do this. Where did you last see it? Is it one seal or a pair? Also, is the fork leaking now or are they just an extra set?

Also are you wearing a tin foil hat? And make sure you sleep with your cel phone under your pillow for a while........

smokinjoe73 03-28-2017 06:46 AM

So xeris, the bars are 3" from top of clamp to top of bar. About 4.25" from bottom of clamp to top of bar.

I have a set of apex riser bars and these are similar dimensions to their 3" riser bars.

Thanks Joe.
The rise should be good for my build. What I see (thank you again for the photos) is it looks like the bars maybe positioned too far forward because of where the riser comes off the clamp.
Are you going to use these for your fork swap?

I think i found it.

smokinjoe73 03-28-2017 08:16 AM

Yeah that's them, 900ss. They don't seem to be plentiful but the pair I see is the same cost as woodcraft 3" riser bars so I would get them. I got mine cheaply so it was worth it.

Sorry for the late reply but, thanks Joe. Will be interested in them if you decide to sell them. Though, if it were me, I'd just hang on to them for the next time you need to replace 'em.
