Sorry to hear you went down. Hope you heal up quickly and get everything fixed cheap.

chickenstrip 05-24-2009 04:37 AM

Wow, you're a lucky guy, Lazn! Glad you're okay ... amazed that your bike is rideable.

alive226 05-24-2009 05:15 AM

Lazn, Glad you will be ok.........

Galaxieman 05-24-2009 05:34 AM

Glad to hear you're banged and bruised rather than broken. Blue-hairs are scary around here. Heal quick man!

gboezio 05-24-2009 05:41 AM

Oh crap !! Well you seem to have pulled out pretty good out of this mess.
Darn old ladies, nice in person, not a good encounter on the road

drew_c14 05-24-2009 05:42 AM

Good luck with the recovery, few stitches and bruises aren't bad at all compared to the alternatives.

[QUOTE=lazn;218419] (plus the pillion seat cowl lost one of the tabs that lock it to the seat)

[QUOTE]
Damn that always seems to happen in accidents :)

Wolverine 05-24-2009 06:01 AM

#1 glad your OK. When I went down on '91, I had enough time to slow down to the point that my helmet didn't touch down either. I had plenty of rash, but no stitches/staples (the guy in front of me wasn't so lucky).
#2 talk to a lawyer asap while it's still fresh. You can sue for pain/suffering/damages. I'm not implying that you try to get rich, but you should get enough to fix your bike and then some.

Take it easy for a week or so. Get better as the desire to get back on will grow.

VTRumble 05-24-2009 06:27 AM

Good to hear you're OK, get ready for the insurance co. headache, don't let them screw you.

lazn 05-24-2009 06:38 AM

Well I have not talked to the Senior officer in charge, they took me away in the ambulance before she got there. However my friends who got there and picked up the bike for me said that while the lady was trying to blame me for it, the officer didn't seem to be accepting that story. I called her (officer) and left a voice mail to call me back.

I want to find out what she wrote in the report before I worry too much about a lawyer etc.

badboyrr 05-24-2009 06:41 AM

Glad your ok......sux about your Hawk....get well.

Of course it's your fault, you were riding one of those "racer" motorcycles...... how could that poor old lady be responsible.....

I hope you sue her ass off.... bitch!

Here are some pics, sliders saved a bunch. As you can see the one way sign in the middle of the road is not standing up straight anymore.

And a few of him..dont have any of the staples. He said he was actually looking at his knee cap moving around while in the hospital...eww

inderocker 05-24-2009 11:59 PM

Looks like the VTR faired better that he did. ;) Good thing flesh heals and plastics are replaceable. Take it easy on that knee... bad knee's suck... I know first hand.

VTRsurfer 05-25-2009 12:28 AM

lazn, you look too happy in that one photo, must be the drugs.

Glad you're okay, and the bike doesn't look bad. Also glad that the Officer is on your side.

By the way, if you were in Mexico, you would have to pay for that bent sign before they would let you go back to AZ.

Hotbrakes 05-25-2009 09:39 AM

Good to hear you're ok. Hopefully she will never drive again and go to jail for wreckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, not that failure to yield bullshit. Why would she pull all the way out to the middle lane? The only reason I can think of is to hit YOU. She was trying her best to kill you. In lieu of jail time I think a license restricting her to only operating a scooter would be very constructive punishment.

kmm996 05-25-2009 10:07 AM

Glad to hear you're pretty much ok, apart from the scrapes and bruises. The bike sounds like it survived with minor injuries also. Get well soon.

For those that know Phoenix, I was on Bell road headed west at around 97th Avenue.

tapatio 05-29-2009 04:05 PM

Glad to hear you are ok.

nath981 05-29-2009 08:09 PM

"One does not bear arms against a rabbit..."

tell that to these small game hunters up here in my neighborhood.

get back at it soon. although riding in that heat with all the gear on sucks. better head up to salt river canyon.

lynchie 05-29-2009 09:38 PM

Dammit i hate AZ, one day i will ride away from this a-hole of america. actually its the the "taint"...

Im glad to hear your not laid up "too bad" lazn..... ive had 3 people pull out in front of me here... all of them were of the illegal sort. Hispanics still blasted out on the chiva from the night before. Damn zombie cagers... i might have to make some shirts! "S.H.A.Z.C" Superhawker's against zombie Cagers!

AZ headed the country in red light runner accidents a few years back.. it must be the heat...and the snowbirds leaving town..zombie cagers!!

RCVTR 05-30-2009 06:27 AM

Sorry to hear about your crash. I'm glad you are going to be ok.

Get a lawyer, even if you don't think you need one. Otherwise the insurance company wins.

That's good advice. It's not the little old layd you'll be up against... it's her insurance company. They'll try to hand you your ass and make it sound like they're doing you a favor. Good luck Lazn!

Jim TT 05-30-2009 09:52 AM

That sucks ass.

swordfish 06-01-2009 12:02 PM

I hope something truly awfull happens to that senile old bitch. I hate old people that think they still have any coordination. endanger my life every day, and twice on weekends. the only good thing about old lady drivers is that they don't have the processing power to try and talk on a cell while they drive badly. yeah I'm harsh. they try to kill us. I will stay harsh.

5150 06-06-2009 06:05 PM

So whats the good word latly Lazn? you about ready to get those staples out? how you feeling? internally you feeling ok?

lazn 06-06-2009 06:18 PM

Staples are out, healing up well.. Police report becomes available Monday, so insurance has been on hold till then.

cameron 06-07-2009 07:45 AM

watch those thugs from the insurance companies. glad your ok.

reaper 06-07-2009 08:43 AM

lazn, did the old lady stop or did she figure she ran over something and just kept on going?
