just hit 20000

Went for a nice ride this morning, 3 hours of twisties, no deer, only a few cars. When I got home and was pulling into the garage i noticed my odometer is exactly 20000! Not very exciting to most but it means I'm well on my way to being "one with the machine"! Since I bought this bike with 17750 on it, this is the closest thing to a new bike for me. Getting really comfortable with the bike but I really need to sort out the suspension! That is next on my list as of today. One question, why would the rear tire have no "chicken" strips and the front have a good 1/2 inch?

Means your powersliding in the corners.......

That's funny! Isn't it something to do with rake and trail?

When I asked the same question, I was told "don't worry about it" like someone thought it must be keeping me up at night or something...

All I know is when I took it to the track the rear strips were completely erased and the fronts were down to about a 1/4" on Pirelli Angels. I assume the difference now is because the front is so much narrower than the rear. I can hardly wait for the insulting smartass responses..

that makes sense. on other bikes I've owned the wear was more or less even. I am also discovering just how far over I can lean this bike! Rush city!!

It's all about geometry and tire profile. With the 1000RR front forks the geometry is slightly different, and although the tire size is the same, I seem to use more of the front tire leaned over than with the stock forks. Some tires are different too, and the more different tires you use you will find that out from personal experience.
