Ever wonder what the inside of a Metzeler M1 Sportec 190 rear looks like? Check out the pics. I've got about 3000 miles out of the rear. After my 2nd to the last ride, there was spalling in a couple of places, like in the pic; and after my last ride, in a few more places or so I thought... Then on Friday, I was getting ready for another ride, when I noticed a wee bit more wear... Fortunately Cycle Gear in Oxnard had a Sportec M5 Interact Hypersport 190 for $179.00. After a couple of hours of research on the forum, I think I can at least remove the old one myself, and perhaps will try to mount the new one.

I think you may be a wee bit past the wear bars. ;)

But why in the world would you let your tire wear down like that?? Unsafe to say the least.

I don't know though. Looks like it might be good for at least one more trip up the coast before finishing it off with a healthy burnout. haha

Shush you, we don't need to lose another hawk or have another rider injured :-(

what! there's not even any tears in those treads yet. I bet that tire is a blast in the corners. Low unsprung weight....probably only about 10 lbs, good slicks for sidewalls. Hell people pay good money for tires with these attributes. If you'd get rid of these, I'd hate to think what you'd do when your old lady starts lookin a little ragged.

And anyway, what about all the sharks that need parts?haha:D

Only way to be sure they're due for replacement is a high speed run on the highway. jk
