If this guy can drag knee, I should sure be able to!

How shamed would you feel to show up to a trackday with your totally pimped out YZFZXWHATEVER and some guy on a Goldwing catches you and passes you.....

That is crazy those wings can fly, well balanced.

I can drag a knee on my VTR and my SuperMoto, but only the right knee, i got some kind of mental block that seems to prevent me from getting the left knee down.

Hope to fix that in October at Barber Track Day.

LOL....I haven't had that happen to me (although I wouldn't be surprised if it was my first trackday). I did however pass a guy on a goldwing going up a mountain road when I was coming down and he was moving WAY faster than I was thru the turn. Some riders are just freakin' good. Better than I'll ever be. In the video though, it's obvious that the camera bike could have blown by his ass at any point.

for anybody that doubts the capabilities of a Goldwing, watch this and tell me if you could keep up:

this is him filming the video...he did this as a business cause no one else was capable of it
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCWy-sVCaJY

he actually did an ironbutt run (1000 miles in 24 hours) of nothing but the Dragon's Tail...110 passes of that road

Yup, its all about the rider.

I was talking about the back of the pack that he caught up to at the end of the vid. The rider with the cam was obviously following him to shoot the footage.

Holy crap, that Deals Gap vid is FAR more impressive than the one that I posted!!!

BlackHawk996 09-17-2008 07:51 PM

ah my local track. never know what you will see in new hampshire.

gboezio 09-18-2008 02:32 AM

Wow, when we say that the rider is the most critical component on a bike, that tend to confirm that.
I may go to a NH trackday next year, I heard that there are nice tracks, and sparky Goldwings

FTMS 09-18-2008 04:06 AM

I am going to this guys track day on the 29th at NHMS. I hope he has his wing out there then.

If you get the chance to ride a 1800 wing don't pass it up. They are a very impressive bike.

Good luck with the track day. I'm sure it'll be a blast. Someday I'll be there.
As far as that goldwing, WOW!!! That's gotta be one hell of a work out. That guy probably has Tri-ceps the size of bowlingballs.

Little_Horse 09-18-2008 07:21 AM

if he can do that on a wing think of what he could do on a sportbike!

sportbike probably isn't enough of a 'challenge' for him anymore...I'd say Yellow Wolf very likely came from a sportbike background

This is what he does on a sportbike. He's on the bike with the camera following a 999s:

wow, that guy is seriously quick....

like others have said, only so much of it is up to the bike. the right rider makes all the difference.

This video popped up in the related column on Youtube. There are a couple shots of VTRs on it.

Yes ! Yellow wolf is that good ! We were up in the North Ga mountains a couple of years ago ( me & another experienced rider and 2 noobs )and ended up behind him on hwy 60 near Suches thinking it was just another old guy on a Goldwing . When we came up on him he definetly turned it up a notch . We never made a attempt to pass him & there was no need to , his pace was just about perfect without getting carried away ! However the 2 noobs ( who thought they were fast ) were so embarassed about being 5 minutes behind when we stopped they never went to the mountains again . They pretty much just squid ride around the city now
