Identify these Sliders
I was looking at these CF radiator scoops and noticed a different set of frame sliders than iv seen before. most of the time I see the Trex sliders, which seem like they would work great but i worry they would get in my way and they are pretty ugly being as long as they are....
anyone ever tried sliders like these or know what they are? is it really safe to mount them on that part of the frame vs the bigger part like the T-rex? http://honda-rc51.de/VTR1000F_Airscoops_Carbon_1.jpg http://honda-rc51.de/VTR1000F_Airscoops.jpg |
I don't see any image, or any link to an image.
That would probably help. |
those are 'caspers'. they don't work worth a darn !
:D lol tim |
Sorry about that, fixed now in my OP
anyway, back on subject....anyone seen any sliders like that? |
You want the T-rex's to stick out that far to save the fairings. Those look like they'd hit fairing as soon as they hit the sliders.
You can rotate the T-rex's forward out of the way. |
I realize why the T-rex's stick out so far, and that these probably wouldn't save the fairing, but what im interested in is the mounting location.....as in....mounting sliders a bit longer like the T-rex's but in the location these are in where they are more out of the way and look a little better....
im sure you could mount any slider you want there if you have the mounting hardware, which i guess is what id be looking for. i might just order the T-Rexes and call it a day...not sure if that location is strong enough (the one in the pictures. |
i don't know but they look / mount somewhat like the LSL sliders.
look at mine https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...ad.php?t=15206 the 'buttons' on the end come in many colors... red, blue.black, white, silver, chrome,CF,yellow, orang e,titanium.... tim |
i like those a little better than the Trex, wonder how well they work in a crash.

I did a little research and it looks like the LSL sliders might be a little hard to get ahold of, not to mention being pretty expensive. They ask 84.95 for the mounting kit and 59.95 for the sliders (more if you want carbon or chrome) while T-Rex's are 59.99 for the whole kit. I like them more than the T-rex but I wonder how the protection compares since they don't seem to stick out as far.
trinc: do they seem to protrude far enough to protect the entire fairing? |

What is the CF part down in front of the fairings?

I decided to go ahead and get the T-Rex, I think they might offer more protection and the newer style they show on the website looks a little better with the 2 grooves in the slider (small difference but it helps a bit)
Im wondering if they will cause me any trouble fitting with the Mario Nava bodywork i just bought....hmm any opinions? looks like the MN fairings shouldn't get in the way from comparing pics but im not positive, The newer T-Rex sliders on the site have a notch that should help them clear the bodywork. |
I found the LSL sliders on Kneedraggers if anyones interested/for future reference
http://www.kneedraggers.com/details/...59-LSL-20.html 131 for most colors 141 for chrome or carbon, thats a big discount off the list price on speigler's site. Still a little price and Im going to stick with the T-Rexs for 59. Mounting kit alone on the LSL's goes for 75 or so. Anyway, figured id throw this out there for anyone else looking |
Anybody got a shot of the Speigler's on a SH?
