I've never seen one like that before.
What do you suppose the hole in the middle is for?

Hey Jeffers :)

I am at a loss to explain what the whole is for but check out the filter area, not much wasted space there. It sure looks as though it would flow a whole lot of air.

ON another matter, how did you make out with your longer intake runner on the front cylinder?

cheers

Hey my brotha' of the frozen north.

Pretty much mirrored your experience.
Here's some pictures, I fastened the funnels together with ty-raps and smoothed the throut where the seam is.
For lenght I choose what seemed to line up as far as inside diameters.
Real scientific Huh LOL

Hi Jeff :)

The ol' frozen North ain't so frozen this year...what a freaky winter so far (freezing rain, rain, ...all the necessary ingredients to prevent me from enjoying my other favourite hobby, snowmobiling). Seeing as how I can't get any riding in on the sleds (in what should be the prime time), I am now counting the days until the ol' Storm can come out and play again.

In regards tot he runner, it certainly seems as though your results are pretty much the same as mine. Did you find that your new intermediate length runner actually smoothed out the engine (even when compared to the stock set-up)? I found this to be true. Case in point: when riding witht he stock set-up, my hands would inevitably fall asleep every 50 kms or so yet on my last decent ride of the year, I rode over 700kms straight with no problems at all. That and the fact that it definitely seems to pull harder in the lows and mids makes it a win-win for me.
