Hawk key...
 

So in the process of moving last week I MISPLACED (LOST) my key to my bike... After tearing EVERYTHING apart over n over again I believe its gone..
:( Anyone deal with lost keys before, I have a kill switch on the bike so starting it isnt the issue, Its fueling it.. I was thinking about putting on a click-loc fuel cap, I remember seeing these for sale somewhere before, I just don't remember.. or Honda's policy for replicating the key. Any thoughts??

I lost my only one once. I removed my ignition switch and took it to a dealer and they made me 3 more. There is a code on there they use to make the new key.

Yeah I was able to get 2 replacement keys on Ebay via the key code from my existing one. If there was any way you knew that code you could get new copies

Mine were like $28 shipped for 2 if I remember

UPDATE:: so after talking with several local parts departments and reaching out to Honda themselves, I am duced... the code that is provided on the tumblers and through the bike are not valid and not used anymore, no one can produce a key, the advise I have received is to "call a locksmith"..... I did.. generally this will cost anywhere between $125-150 and I need to get a blank from Honda to generate a key., I ordered a non locking fuel cap and Ill drill out CAREFULLY the lock on the fuel tank and move on from there, install a kill switch for the ignition.. :(

Not sure what year your bike is but there you go. There are others (make sure a key is included obviously because while those are some aren't). Yes be CAREFUL I drilled one out once (admittedly on a tank I didn't care about) but I pushed a little too hard and did dent/push in the tank a little. Get some sharp bits and be PATIENT and it'll eventually work itself off. Like you said if you bubba it or rush you will damage a nice tank. Just try not to do too much prying as the tank metal is thin and will deform.

Somebody is bullshitn' you. In fact I just text'd a friend that works (and has worked for years) at a somewhat local Kawasaki dealership and he confirmed as of today, they still are able to make you a key with the code that is on the ignition switch. Are you a shady lookin' character, LOL?! :p

His name is Evan and he works @ Don's Kawasaki in Hellam Pa fyi. Please don't call and lite him up, :).

When I did the lost key thing, I had a locksmith pick the gas cap (way easier) and the code is under the cap. (that same smith made me keys with the code; no charge for the lock pick if I brought him the gas tank)

For sure you can get keys made with that code.

Since your locks are good I would go that route.

BTW, how does having a kill switch mean you don't need and ignition key?

Through many ways you can get those keys specially contacting a locksmith as i also have got car keys near me by an auto locksmith.
