hard travel cases
Do they make hard travel "bags" that mount to the SH?
|
Damn with the questions Joe! haha.
|
Unless you fabricate something yourself...mounting brackets, etc.....then I don't think so.
|
I think it was Corbin that made "Beetle Bags" for the hawk. Try searching around for that.
|
I looked on www.corbin.com and if they did make them, they no longer offer 'em.
|
I didn't call them to see if they're still available, but you can....

Nice find! I love the way they look, but after having some on my Hayabusa, I think I'd go with soft bags instead. I also had an FJR1300 too.. those were some GREAT hard bags. The style of the Corbin bags limit the space available.

you'd be screwed if you had high mounts also
|
I think he is wondering if there are hard bags....not space alien bags.
Those look pretty good on that Busa....but the Hawk just doesn't have the lines for them. |
Givi makes a top bag. I had one for a while and loved it. Killed the lines of the bike but it was invaluable for carryin shit.
|
Hey Hawkrider, Do you still have that top bag or know where I could get one? Not to worried about the lines at the moment.
|
I have a givi top mounting rack that fits a monokey top case that is new. I paid 140.00 plus shipping I would sell for 100.00 and cover shipping. Let me know.

I bought a used set of Givis with a universal mounting system. It actually fits pretty well, after some work. I order to reinforce the racks I ran some aluminum channel from the passenger pegs to the lower portion of the rack (sorry, don't have pics of it). It looks decent when loaded up, but definitely has DIY appearance when the bags are off.
https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...1&d=1210617025 I wanted hard bags because I was traveling cross-country with photo gear, so they were good for that. They make the bike truly wide, though. (there are smaller Givi bags, however) Their weight capacity was surprisingly low, too (can't remember what it is), and several times one or the other bag would pop off (thankfully resting on the lower mount points and my exhaust pipe - better than losing them, but still nerve racking). Their good if you're not loading them up too much. |
That looks good. The top mount will do me good. I just want to put my gym clothes and some odds and ends in there. 10 -15 lb max.
Do you have the website for the bags? Joe |

I have a trunk for the BMW and givi is wonderfully functional. It makes commuting a breeze. Laptop storage while riding, helmet/jacket stoage while parked. -Karl |
Thanks Guys, You really came thru.

Kind of late on this reply. I was gone.
Grab the Givi Rack that Dante1 offered. I have one on my Hawk. See sig. I used a Chinese Top Box (Adlo) . That particular box fit the GIVI rack perfectly. added two J.C. Whitney Medium top boxes on the side. Had to do a little fabrication to mount the plate to the GIVI rack. Also, the smaller Medium boxes are not compatible with the GIVI rack. See Sig. Picture. Dan Function over form |
Yeah, I bought the pount from Dan. I am not concerned with looks. I am a fat bastard as it is so if I was concerned with looks I would not be riding :). I need functionality. I hate carrying my jacket and helmet around everywhere I go.
