Hand guards (not mine)
With winter approaching I thought I would pass this on. Saw these on another forum but these really work to stop cold hands PowerMadd Handguards - Suzuki SV650 Forum: SV650, SV1000, Gladius Forums

Thanks for sharing that!

Turn your SH into the batmobile!!
I would love to have something to help but that's wayyy too ugly, IMO. |
Does anyone know if these would work with the stock fairing? Looks like they would not fit?
|
Well all the pics of them fitted show 'em fitted on nekkid bikes so take that as a clue...

I have artic cat units on my stock faired sh. These look similar so could be made to fit.
After running handguards in the cold there's no way to describe how much they help. I would not go back. Even for the days you get caught with too thin gloves, etc. |

I saw from another thread that you are using part #3639 736. What brackets are you using? There seem to several versions depending on the sled they are being put on. Did they mount up or did you have to modify them or fab brackets? I am tired of my fingers being cold no matter what gloves I wear so I am getting ready to do this. I can fab anything I need but thought I would tap your experience since you have already done it. Also some more pictures would be great if you have them. Thanks Walt |
I used the brackets that came with them but drilled my own hole to bolt thru. I can take pics if it would help.

I thought the ones I saw on eBay came without brackets. There where 2 or 3 different brackets available. A couple of pictures would be great.
Thanks Walt |
The ones I have replace the rear half of the lever mounts to support the guards. Will do pics tomorrow.
|
Joe, did you ever get some pictures?

So here is how it mounts. It replaces the back bracket of the lever mounts.
I had to do some drilling to make the top holes work. Also cut the front of mount at the bend and drilled & bolted it back together to get a custom angle. I have helibars so not sure if you would have same issues. |

Here are the mounts from my spare set of guards. They were a bit long so like I said I cut them at the bend then overlapped & drilled them so the bolted spot is an adjustable pivot.
I keep these on year round since cold nights sneak up on you and they protect your hands from rain too. Sorry the pics stink but you get the idea,. |
I see, they mount on the riders side and cross under the bar to the front of the bike.
I will have to see if I can order a set. Thanks |
