Good deal?
Whats up Shawk members? Hopefully, this is my first of many posts to come in the future. I know what KBB says but I'm hoping toget some biased opinions. I have an opportunity to buy a 2002 Shawk that is bone stock with 9600 miles. OG owner is selling and the bike has new tires. Advertised price is $3850.00 and I'm hoping to get it for $3500.00. sweet deal?

That sounds high to me unless it's in perfect condition. Completely stock and original owner is rare though . . .
Assuming a showroom perfect bike, I would say a realistic "sweet" deal would be more like $3,000, and then go down for any imperfections with the bike. KBB is around 3500 for retail, and 2500 for trade-in. These bike tend to sell for closer to trade-in than retail. |
It really depends on the condition that it's in... bone stock showroom condition, you won't get one for too much cheaper.
Bone stock, spitting black smoke, and touch up paint on the left side, you may want to reconsider. https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...perhawk-24963/ |
Welcome Jara. 35 seems high in today's world. I paid 35 for mine several years ago w/ about the same mileage, bone stock. Try to sweeten the deal by either coming down in price or have him throw in some gear.

good deal
Thanks guys, I'll let you know how it goes. this bike is very, very clean w/o a scratch.
|
A bit high....probably 3200 around here. I know 03's are in the 3500 range.
|
If it's stock, in top condition and you really like it, then $3500 is not a bad deal...remember, Honda is not making these great bikes anymore...

I have had my Hawk for 10 years now and it has been a blast. I have never owned one particular bike for this long. As the previous member said, they are not making these anymore so I wouldn't miss out on this bike over a couple hundred dollars if it is in your area. You can definetely find another one, but how far will you have to travel to get it? You are going to end up customizing it to your riding and body preferences so you are going to more than likely stick some money into it so worth trying to get a good price, but trust me that you will love this bike and so it is worth giving in a bit if the negotiations are holding hard.

good deal?
thanks again for the continued feedback. I have made the offer and the owner is considering. I'll know something later today and will keep you guys posted....hopefully with pics of my new bike!

Picked mine up last night. told my wife I was going around the block and then came back 20 miles later with a mile wide grin. Love it and see myself logging at least 20K miles on this great bike. Honda, bring it back!!!!

I got it for $3500.00. 9600 miles and the bike is mint. Got it from the OG owner who is in his early 50's. For $3500, I got the bike w/new tires and a new battery, a nice rear stand, a custom cover, and he delivered it to my home which was a 240 mile round trip for him!
