Well that's really what it does down here in S Tex. The air is thick. When you light up the bike the first few strokes are just getting going. Or not - the back fire. No big - a couple more cranks and the bike is up and running. I think the important thing is to stay on top of your choke settings as the bike is warming up.

Great... My favorite bike farts, chokes, pukes and dies and it is "part of their charm" and something they do all the time and I had better get used to it... huh...

If I crank at all with the kill switch on, I'll get a back fire when I finally figure why I'm not starting.

I think that mine is just telling me "Good morning"....

it's not exactly the most technologically advanced engine system down there. I've had raw fuel spit out of the exhaust, backfires, chokes and misses, all when the bike is tuned fine, and running smoothly otherwise. Just the nature of the beast is a good description, or nature of the Dragon as I call mine.

One time at night a buddy was following me and I lit it up on the highway, she bogged a little (very warm night) and then took off. He said I shot flames about 3 feet back of the bike.

Like little afterburners.

Our carbs don't have accererator pumps so you can mess with the throttle all you want with the bike off. It won't affect anything at all.
