Fuel Cost coming down

It has been $3.20 for the past week here in TN and is down to $3.14 on the way home today.

Just two weeks ago it was $3.70

Common $2.95

newb007 08-21-2008 07:44 PM

Dang - In Nashville I was just glad to see it under $4. Today I filled up downtown for $3.69/gal. WAY better than $4 but still not as good as where you are.

Death Cattle 08-21-2008 08:21 PM

lets hope this pattern continues.

+1.... or until they jack it up to $5 a gallon...then we'll think 4 is reasonable...then 5 ...then 6.......

Cleveland 08-22-2008 04:59 AM

yeah.. they're just pulling back the rubber band, when they let go it'll go up fast to a peak .. then back down alittle.. then creap back up some more..

Kind of like what I hear prison sex is like..

harlangto 08-22-2008 05:16 AM

Dangit I gotta quit filling up in Nashville. Paid $3.5sumthin in Grassland tonight. Why is west of town getting such a good deal?

We actually just moved from Fairview back to Franklin. I was paying $800 a month in gas in Fairview with all the driving we did. Now we are paying $250, so that is muuuuuch better.

VTRsurfer 08-22-2008 07:18 PM

I can't believe I'm breathing a sigh of relief at $3.95.
In 1973 during a "gas war" here in SoCal, regular was 24 cents a gallon.

Up until 1974, gas wars would happen every few months so the suppliers could clean out their surplus. Prices would come down 8 to 10 cents a gallon for a couple of weeks.

But of course when you factor in inflation.......

Vega (streetfighter) 08-23-2008 10:28 AM

Still about $3.85-$3.99 for regular in the San Francisco/Sacramento area

$3.69 and dropping in Phoenix, Arizona

skokievtr 08-24-2008 01:56 PM

We're holding at 3.97 but north I saw 3.73! Found out going down (to the OE gearing (was 43 in the rear) has actually hurt my mileage. Why, cuz I find myself going faster as it runs that much smoother! LOL Now I'm gonna go back to the OE mains and keep my wrist in check and see what I get. Worst mileage for a long time, down to about 28 mpg but was averaging 100+ for looong stretches.

01SuperChicken 08-25-2008 11:00 AM

$3.81 this morning at 7-11.

Thumper 08-25-2008 11:42 AM

Holding at $3.14 since last week

superhawk22 08-26-2008 05:56 PM
