Fork swap brake lines
Has anyone swapped forks and kept their steel lines they were using on the non radial brakes and used them on radial brakes?
I am not sure if the banjo fittings need to be at different angles or directions. |
Back (way back) when I put SP2 forks on my bike I may have kept whatever lines I was running, but once I mounted radial brackets for CBR1000RR Tokicos I had custom (slightly longer) lines made by Galfer I believe. They only charge a couple bucks more than standard sizes for a particular bike and will make them whatever length you need. As for the angles of the fittings I'll check for you tomorrow and see what I did vs stock (PM me if I forget as that's getting more and more common for me these days ;) ). Again they'll make you anything you need and it was literally like 5 or 10 bucks more at the time.

Right cap but I guess what I am asking is will brake lines from a standard brake system need crazy twisting to fit a radial mount. I have long enough lines but don't know if I can keep them or need long lines made for the radial mount.
I have had issues in the past with the different angles they need to exit the master and enter the calipers. Of course I could find out as I do the swap but that may cost me riding time. When I did my cbr1000rr front end swap I had the bike specific lines so they just fit. |
