Fair asking price

What do you all think a fair price would be for:

2003 Hawk

6200 Mi.

NEP
Puig dark smoke screen
Front LED signals (bikelitz)

Oil and filter changed at every 2500 miles (I've actually done it 3 times, for break-in/first service)

mechanically perfect, all carb issues from sitting are sorted out.

Michelin pilot roads with about 600 miles on them

dropped on left side, all repairs done except:

(deficiencies)
needs new grips
needs new bar end insert (left side)
Solo cowl has 1 abrasion from a rubber boot sole. Could be buffed out if you wanted.
Left mirror small abrasion
left rear signal small abrasion
Clutch lever scuffed (can't see unless looking for it)
left can has minor abrasion at weld (not noticeable)
Pipes de-baffled

Of course this would all be disclosed IF I decide to sell.

Any opinions appreciated

I would give you $250.00 Cash right now, no questions asked! LOL...J/K

check out NADA.com they are pretty spot on when it comes to the value, but then again it has a lot to do with your market....

FatHawk Jun 13, 2007 06:57 AM

NADA says $5770, but I was wondering if the damage would bring it down a whole lot.

Randman Jun 13, 2007 06:59 AM

So throw it out there for $5200, that's $500 under Nada, and let someone else take care of fixing the stuff....

FatHawk Jun 13, 2007 07:08 AM

Thanks, I just didn't know how much I should drop for stuff like that.

Of course if I decide it goes bye-bye, the board will get first crack.

I would say list it for NADA then put OBO... If you find a decent buyer and he wants to drop $500 off the price because of the damage, then you can decide if you want to take the price.

Location is going to play a big part too.

Down here in Texas all the 'hawks I've seen in good to great shape with under 10k miles are going for low to mid $4000s.

.... which is a contributing factor to my wanting to purchase one.

I would spend the $30 to fix the barend and grips, do the sanding/buffing/polishing yourself and list it for $4500. I've not seen a VTR go for much more of that age. She's almost 4 years old so you will have to take a hit.
