dropped the hawk christmas day
so..christmas morning I figure no one on the roads. I took the vtr out for a quiet trip to La Honda, to Alice's restaurant and back to SF. All was well until a car stopped suddenly in front of me. I avoided the car but went down when the front wheel lost traction on road stripe.
Left side fairing, mirror, handlebar, lever, shifter and a few other pieces need to be replaced. Small dent in tank. I broke my collar bone so no riding for me for a few months. A stupid accident, I know the stripes are bad for traction and I was momentarily careless. I really hate falling down! |
Sorry to hear of your misfortune, Twist. Hope you heal up quickly.

Glad you were not injured more severely and hope you will be back riding soon!

Aw man that stinks! Collar bones can hurt like a broken heart. Have done both of mine.
Did you get it plated or is it just cracked? Can you lay down to sleep? Get some rest. Sorry to hear. |
Dam sorry about your misfortune. Sunny and 40F here today, was thinking about taking mine for a spin today. Now.......

I've broken both of my collars bones now, too. Plated the latest one and feeling much better already but still painful. The worst part is replacing the special parts I'c found here and elsewhere since I bought the Hawk. In particular, the magnesium timing hole plug and the shift lever made by Jamie. Could also use some advice for managing the little dent in my tank at the left hand side seam that rests on the frame. Bad spot for a dent.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune.
You can still buy a shift lever from Jamie. |
