Blue-Away FTW!
 

My bike had some blueing that needed to be addressed. PO never stayed on top of polished exhaust maintenance.

So I've never tried Blue-Away and was skeptical. It is somewhat expensive for the little bottle ($17) but it has proven well worth buying!

Here are some pics before and after applying Blue-Away to the affected areas. I have not gone back over the areas I applied Blue-Away to with some Semichrome polish so keep that in mind.

Here is the affected area on my right side midpipe before applying Blue-Away. The camera did not pick up the blue and purple hues but does show the brown colors and spotting developing.

And here is the result of how well Blue-Away has worked. I still need to make a few more passes but so far it's coming out very nicely with a bit of elbow grease.

I also started polishing on the exhaust cans as they have some oxidation that needs to be addressed.

I'll probably make two more passes but here is what one pass looks like. I've used semichrome over the years and it's one of the best polishes out there IMHO.....

mother's metal polish has worked for me for a lot of years. for stubbourne stains use a cotton cloth and a sander. another trick for the back side is to wrap a sock around the pipe and pull it back and forth, like a sawing motion. wrap the sock completely around the pipe and you can get the front at the same time.

Thanks for the sock tip. I'll give it a try. For the stubburn areas I used the Dremel with a polishing wheel bit :)
