i feel your pain. they just sent around the email saying we can go home now because of the snow. I'm hanging around of my own volition, dreading going to the gym and then trekking home through the tundra. 8-10 inches this evening and an even bigger storm on sunday. Being bored to tears at work is a walk in the park compared to shacking up at home and clearing the driveway every few hours. I'll probably just sit on my bike in the garage and cry.

Here's a couple I have ridden hard.
The roads in and out of Red Rocks park. Damn they're TIGHT. Since I live so close, it's easy to go make a couple laps around the park, then stop in Morrison proper for a beer. Summertime only of course.
Also the road north of Deckers that parallels the river there. Much cooler ride with lots of wide corners. A blast!
I'd love to know where that super crazy twisty road (and gondola) is, I'm guessing Europe somewhere?

There are 2 roads I ride hard on here which might fit both criteria: Box and Tuna Canyon Roads
You have to look out for rocks in the road after the rain though.

The whacky bridge looks like somewhere in the slavic countries as the letters on the signs give that away... Dunno where though... I'd love to ride bit I'd go slow thankyouverymuch... Wonder what the architect was smoking that day but it sure had a profound effect on him, that's for sure...

VT-108 from Stowe to Jeffersonville: Tourist trap, and a couple of corners that are barely a lane wide (at the top through Smuggler's Notch). But a couple technical ones that are fun even at slow to moderate speeds.
VT-12 running south out of Montpelier: sections with some cracked pavement, but level, cracked pavement is preferable to the tar snake maze that would be the 'solution' on a southern road. Watch out for frost heaves in the spring though.
Mt Washington, NH. Not a speed road, but definitely worth it. Technical, winding, and with a big dirt section in the middle, it is a very rewarding ride.

Rode all 3 in consecutive days when I was home on mid-tour leave. I realized my heavily bafflectomized exhaust was just too much for the small towns while I was there, and subsequently purchased a stock set for future trips like this (Thanks SPRHK!!!). LOUD is fine on the open highway or the track, but it's just not right in some of the quaint New England towns. Damn getting older and more responsible is a drag... VT has a bunch of other roads, as well as NH. Watch for the leaf peepers in the fall though. I was lucky we were a bit ahead of the season this year so no real retards with cameras stopped in random places.
Edited to add: Rt 100 across the southern end of the first loop has some nice sweepers near the west end (by Killington), and it's brand new pavement

My favorite So. Ca. LA County ride is Big Tujunga Canyon out of Sunland and Angeles Forest Highway down into the Antelope Valley. Faster and way less traffic than roads above Malibu, especially on a weekday morning. For a longer ride I turn off Angeles Forest onto Mt. Emma before the Antelope Valley. Mt. Emma to Fort Tejon Rd. to Valyermo Rd. to Big Pines Highway.
Big Pines is very cool. Excellent road surface and pretty tight, but my last weekday morning ride I went like 20 miles at 2-3 times the speed limit without coming up on another vehicle. Big Pines Highway hits Angeles Crest at Big Pines. You can then go east to I-15 or take Angeles Crest back to the 210 just west of Pasadena.

Also Bouquet Canyon and Lake Elizabeth Road. Urban sprawl has probably ruined those in the last 20 years though.

For those out westward, if you haven't been to Mt Lemmon in Tucson, AZ, GO! The bottom is at appx 2800 feet, and the summit is just over 9100. 28ish miles of hammer down goodness.

That's just the thing... you can ride all the way to the top, and the road is the combined best attributes of the Dragon and the Cherahola Skyway. Sweepers, switchbacks, massive elevation change, good pavement... it's got it all. The attached picture is looking from here due south to the road some 1000 feet below.
Oh, I just noticed you're in PA... and figuring 4500 miles round trip, you're looking at nearly $300 in fuel alone, not to mention a set of tires (at least a rear) and accommodations for such a trip... and a Corbin or Sergeant seat would be a must.
