Another Clutch Question...
 

Hey guys,

I was thinking my clutch was going out on the superhawk, i thought this becasue when i tried to do a wheelie in second ( blip the throttle and "slip" the clutch) it would come up what seemed like 4 inches, make as far as i know a slipping noise and fall back down...but when i down shift too quickly matching rev's the tire will lock up and slide; this is telling me that the clutch is holding. Now, after doing some serious thinking and reading on this forum ive realized that it might be something else...Could it be that i need to bleed the fluid and maybe change motor oil? Im not sure whats in it because the previous owner had it changed. Would doing that solve my problem or does it still need to be replaced. I know about the friction modifiers in certain oils and stuff like that but i need some team advice...The bike has 33000 miles on it and has been ridden like a sportbike but not abused...im just not sure what to do?!? What oil do you guys think is the best to put in the bike, I think the oil is the MOST important thing you can do to keep your bike running perfect??? Put it in sixth and "floor it". If acceleration matches revs, your clutch is good but if the revs continue rising yet acceleration slows or remains steady it's slippin'.

Sounds good, so just get on the Highway around 65 and just do a hard roll-on. Ill try it tomorrow. Thanks a ton, is there any particular brand of oil that is a good choice for the hawk ?
