65 this AM

Rode to work this morning at 6:00 am it was 65f and the gentle warth of a Santa Ana Wind at my back.

One of the joys of living in So Cal.

skoshere 01-16-2009 07:14 AM

temp

- 3 and with WC -30

vermontzx6r 01-16-2009 07:38 AM

-18.9F here in the champlain valley of Vermont when I woke up.

30 miles east at my folk's house (in the mountains) it was -30.1F. Those temps are, of course, not including windchill. (it think it was -50F or so with the wind)

Maybe I should visit the Hawk' in storage to make sure hes not as ice cube.

Truckinduc 01-16-2009 07:50 AM

a warm and toasty 7 here

bundleofgrundle 01-16-2009 07:53 AM

-6 walking into the office this morning. It's now a tropical 3. The only thing that makes me feel better is looking at the temp for Mount washington...those poor bastards in the obseratory are dealing with -39 with windchill.....3 doesn't seem so bad with that in mind.

Hawkrider 01-16-2009 08:12 AM

Downright balmy at -9°F this morning.

Lowell, you suck! :nana:

nk140 01-16-2009 08:19 AM

-9 this morning as well

Galaxieman 01-16-2009 09:07 AM

I think it hit 50 here... but I haven't seen a motorcycle in weeks. Less than a month until I get home. Unless they're snow ON the street, I'm taking Camilla for a spin!

RPV-Hawk 01-16-2009 09:26 AM

I too live in so cal, and the 80-85 degree days have been GREAT this week.

Sorry for the rest of you folks shivering in below zero weather, but trust me, you don't wanna move here. Real estate market is in the toilet, and traffic is as bad as ever... You're not missing much.

JamieDaugherty 01-16-2009 09:31 AM

Yep, -16°F here this morning but it's up to -7°F now. It's painful, but I'll take the midwest over Cali any day. You guys can have it. The weather might be nice but there are so many negatives that go along with it...

zmaniv 01-16-2009 09:40 AM

It was about 40 this morning on my way to work it will be in the 80's on the way home.
The best things about Southern California is the weather and the fact that there are not mega ammounts of bugs.

Mr Toad 01-16-2009 09:44 AM

-22 on my bicycle commute in in the morning. A little below my fun threshold.

actually, sounds like the perfect time to move. :)

When I visited last year, my buddy said I must have brought my shit weather with me, it was in the 30's as we headed up the 246 at the end of May! Hell, on our way back from Monterey, we heard reports of tornados back at Moreno Valley where we were headed. My buddy said that's the 1st time he's ever heard of tornados around there. Anyways, I still had a blast, did 1700 miles in 5 days last year on a rented Gixxer 600.

Killemall 01-16-2009 09:50 AM

cliby 01-16-2009 10:05 AM

Moto Man 01-16-2009 10:39 AM

Your cruel Lowell! I feel like such a puss for not wanting to ride in anything less than 50 degrees compared to you guys out east. I guess cold is relative to where you live.

Two day golf tourney for me this weekend, 70-75 for highs....

RickB 01-16-2009 12:33 PM

Looks like a balmy 8 degrees with a wc of -15 here in Buffalo NY but at least its not snowing... just to the south though they are getting pounded with lake effect snow - thats ski country so they like the white stuff.

RK1 01-16-2009 12:59 PM

Just got back from a 60 mile ride. 79 degrees and sunny. Had to open the vents on my Cortech Magnum jacket! Yeah, California sucks compared to what it used to be. I ain't stayin' more than a couple more years. Last natural born American should turn the lights out when they leave. On the bright side if you want a nice warm sunny ride in January, it's still hard to beat.

L8RGYZ 01-16-2009 02:24 PM

Semi-warm at 13 deg. here.

Wolverine 01-16-2009 03:10 PM

2 degree's w/ -11 wind chill. Thanks for rubbin' it in:mad:

6.5 here this morning. A blazing 15 now. The wood stove is barely keeping up. I saw a couple bikes out yesterday and today...craziness. All it takes is one smartass to dump his coffee out at a light and its winter olympics for us on motorcycles!

I couldn't imagine being somewhere below zero. That's nuts and makes me feel better.

Pimpsterbim1 01-16-2009 04:19 PM

schools were all closed arround here because of -30 windchills... I did take my dirtbike out in the snow..Stupid..it hurt to breath, and my snot froze instanly.. but going to get up in the mid 20's this weekend..

Cold here in Indiana. But no earthquakes, hurricanes, illegal immigrants, drug wars, pot growing, and the cost of living is about 1/10 of So.Cal. Taxes about the same, my 2700 sq' home with 4 bedrooms, 3 baths and a built in pool will be paid off in a year (and cost me 100k)

Some of the many joys of living in No. IN.

I also live in Northern Indiana and love it. We have our share of stuff to deal with, and if you don't think there is pot growing in your neighborhood then maybe you should look a little closer! Still, I can't complain.

Yeah... Like the Negative temps and neverending snow right now...
Makes you enjoy the warmer weather more.

kmm996 01-20-2009 06:30 AM

Just finished brushing the Lake effect snow off the cars here at the dealership. Negative 2 degrees.
