2K Mile ride!

Well my buddy with a Super Blackbird and I are going on a 2,000 mile ride. We're heading out on Monday. Planning to be back probably next Saturday. We're starting off in the Seattle area, heading north and east through to Montana, then south into Idaho and back across Oregon. Getting some new tires at my buddies shop at Absolute Powersports in Scappooose, OR, then hitting one last twisty before we hit the super slab and book it back north to home.

Here is the route we're taking. The first 3 days or so looks like for some really spectacular riding. Day 4 is pretty good too. days 5 and 6 will be a little more highway. You guys have any suggestions of attractions or things to see along this route? Any other great roads not far off this route to possibly hit if we have some time?

We're planning on doing around 400 miles a day. Should be a lot of fun! I'm super pumped about this ride! Never been on hardly any of these roads and some of them look phenomial!

WOW! That's quite a large loop!!! Looks awesome. Please take a bunch of pics so us east coasters can see your neck of the woods.

Yeah we're both super stoked! I'm sure we'll be taking plenty of pics. Have to have something to prove we did the trek! LOL! The NW is some of the most beautiful country there is!

The North Cascades SR 20 is a beautiful ride. Best to do it early or on a week day. Motor homes going 50 mph with 40 cars behind them can be a drag .

Last time I rode SR 20 25 years ago I almost ran out of gas. Be aware that not every town posted on the road signs has a gas station. There are some areas on SR 20 that had over 60 miles between gas stations and with our limited tank range plan accordingly. I remember I had to stop and ask and had to ride my old bike down onto a dock to get gas at a boat launch on Ross Lake. I was on fumes. Even in July you will be riding with snow on the shoulders going over the pass. Be prepared for sub 40 degree riding.

I would not ride SR 20 or Idaho or Montana at night, too many deer. From Missoula I would head west on the SR 12? and follow the Locsha river toward Lewiston. I've never rode it, but I drove along once and fished it, and that is a beautiful stretch of highway.

That looks awesome. Make an exhaustive checklist. Tire plugs, travel spray bottle of lens cleaner, etc. You have a 12v cig plug type thing on your dash right?

Take a million pics and post most of them here (or at least a link). Take breaks.
