2002 superhawk info
 

Is there anything I should know about the 2002 year of this bike? Recalls etc.......? I found one w/ 1600 miles on it & it's bone stock.:)

The later ones have the better regulator/rectifier with the cooling fins. My '02 has the updated one but I don't know what year they began - possibly '01. The other common issue is the cam chain tensioners - usually the cam chains get noisy before they go. Some on the list have never had to touch them, rumor is that Honda changed the design somewhere during the production years to help fix this. They are a fun bike to own!

Sounds like a great find. If it pushes your buttons, buy it. Even if you put a couple of thousand miles on it, decide you don't like it (highly unlikely), and resell it, it will STILL be an ultra-low miles bike.

To clarify that bit, RickB, they did start changing things in 2001, they completely redid the bike that year.
