I love how people order a part from a catalog, then call it custom.

And I bet he can show reciept for all of those 11,5K...

Why can people never understand that purchase price of the bike plus goodies never equals selling price?

If they do I have another 14K VTR for sale! Any takers?! I can build a new one like mine for the purchase price when new and still have money left...

Tweety, that's one hell of a bike! It's nice to see it well documented. Not hijack, but, what modification made the most difference handling wise?

Ummm, yea. I'll give you $12,000 and not a penny more.

Let's see...tail section, pipes, lower fairing and paint...lets not forget the painted stock rims. $3k-$4k in extras on a bike that is worth maybe $5k stock. And how do you still have a warrantee on an '04?

Well with me riding like the dumbass I am, the bike scared me a few times in stock form with front end dive, bottoming out and feeling mute and lumpy, and a few times when I felt the front suspension compress from my bodyweight alone in corners enough to change the steering geometry... That was fun...

So the fork was probably the biggest step...

Buuut, once the front was sorted the rear would frequently go hopping of on it's own little adventure during braking (not that I couldn't control it, but it was annoying)...
So having a fully adjustable rear suspension with a calm relaxed feel from the rigid swingarm is very, very nice...

I kind of like the whole of it... So I can't really separate one from the other...

I have entered in this month's VTROTM, so feel free to vote...

And now back to your scheduled craigslist bashing...

And those annoying 1990's boys in the hood wanna be 100 spoke gold daytons are just not cutting it. Nice bike, b ut way over customized in the wrong direction i think. just my opinon.

But if he keeps it i suggest a arai quantem 2 jolly roger for this season. hehe

He's high... because he's up in the "legal to grow pot" area of California.

I bought mine as overstock, with 4 miles on it, brand new, last August. I have the current factory warranty still, and am eligible for an extended warranty. Mine's an '03. It's possible it still has the warranty, and with only 500 miles. Course, I paid 7k for mine brand new, got the best financing, and didn't have to put any money down. I could see a total sucker getting suckered in for more if they didn't know what they were doing. Hell, I didn't know what I was doing but don't regret my purchase one minute =)

But 11.5k? Maybe a completely bone stock '98 with > 5 miles. Maybe.

Man, some people just. don't. get it. Here in Whale's Vagina some idiot has been posting the same CDROM for $10 for yeah, probably two years now.

back OT, the only time I'd spend $11K for a bike is if it was in great shape and retailed for twice that a few years prior, ie, 999R.

I didn't think about the left-overs that have been on the floor for years. Damn, I should find one of thems and sell mine.
