Buying back into the the brand - need buying tips

Had a 1998 chicken in 2005 it had 2K worth of rims and a full two brothers xhst. - jet kit this that the other thing - I had to sell it in 2007 for 3K (BARF!!!) BUT i kept the rims and the exhaust...waiting for this moment.

Now that I can get another one I want some opinions...

2004 - almost 10K miles/dealer - how much
2002 - 5K miles/private - how much

Those are the two closest bikes Im thinking about

Also if you have one for sale and youre close to Mass. let me know

AND with the 04 so close to 10 the CCT is on my mind
any other thoughts of what to watch for would be great because I doubt that Ill be able to test drive either of them....

Well Superhawks are famous for being cheap..

That said, 2005 was the last year for them in the USA.
This means the 2004 is somewhat "new" for a superhawk, and the 2002 is nice for being low miles.

I personally would be more interested in the 2002, but that's just me.

As for price.. Somewhere between $2500 and $5500 depending on exact condition, mileage and what you are willing to pay.

Here are a couple that are for sale here in AZ as examples:

Ummmm....how much is....."how much"?

Maybe we can help if we know the asking prices of the bikes your looking at.

not that close to you...(northern virginia - 20181) but if your looking for one that has all service up to date, 16k, forks and new chain 100 miles ago. With all the goodies you would need, this is for you.

let me know...looking for 5k or best offer..

Thanks for the feed back need some additional insight before purchasing

Appreciate your detailed response but if i was ganna get a SH for 5500 it better be an 04 or 05 with under 2000 miles not 9 with RC an front end theres one on ebay right now a 04 with 1k for 6k buy it now.

how much is how much
2004 6k
2002 4k

I like the bike a lot ive looked at it a couple of times the vtr swing arm is a sick add on but its not the bike for me...i want one that has little to no mods with as low as possible miles but i want something i can hear see and touch, possibly ride, before i purchase. Thats just me though.

For mostly stock with low miles in well kept condition, I would expect to pay $3000-$3500.
Last year I got my mostly stock 2000 from the original owner, with ~13K miles, for $3200.
The only mods were the PAIR system mods, Race Tech gold valves, and Galfer SS lines.

In my opinion, if they are in good shape:

4k for the 2002 sounds reasonable. 6k for the 2004 is not, too many miles and most of that is just dealer mark up, and you will be paying tax, doc, etc fees with them.

But only you can spend your money.. I can't spend it for you.

There is no technical difference between a 2002 and a 2004, so the 2002 is really "newer" since it has fewer miles.
