I love mice, they keep things interesting.
The only good that ever came of them living in an airbox was when they seized the pistons (from urine) on my friend's SV. It gave him good reason to finally use some busa pistons and the gen2 cam swap. Ahh mice. Now on the Volvo's I used to wrench on they lived right under the engine cover and made fine meals out of the wire insulation which was soy based, don't ask what a coil harness cost on a new T6.
Poppycock! Too harsh on the man, clearly that is a lightweight rim that a more experienced and worldly technician would have recognized for the performance modification it is. And as for the F4i Brakes, those are the "very rare" Telefonica edition pads! Light weight while allowing for superb feedback! Ans that tire is only worn on one side...silly...it could have been flipped around and gone for easily another 5k. Very disappointed in you sir.
And with this pic I shall shut down this thread! Gentlemen, this young man rode this into the shop and said nothing about the lever. It was totally 2 pieces. A completely useless front brake system.
I still have it as a trophy. We changed it for him, no charge. Enabling? Maybe but we just couldn't let him leave knowing.
Now hold on Skippy, this was a Carb thread. You have violated the terms of making fun of other peoples rides by posting pics of other type disasters, and while entertaining they are not in intent of the thread.

Feels like steering stem bearings. I'll have a look. Later, Yes its the bearings they need to be replaced.
"No way, your just saying that to avoid fixing the tire problem. I installed those bearings myself last month, I cleaned all the junk off them that they were covered in and carefully pushed them in with a big hammer."
Yes sir, perhaps you should come get your bike,,,, you can have it as is, or cover the hour I have in it, your choice.

Must be in the air. This fella was told he had an issue, unbeknownst to him, during an annual inspection this summer. Just brought it in for major service, including the issue he was told he had, but couldn’t feel. Holy crap, when I lifted the front end, it wobbles back and forth till it settled in the grooves. Unreal!
Now wolverine...you should those are factory optioned oiling grooves meant to hold extra grease in head bearings.

I have no photo of my show stopper...so I will retell as best I can.
My father finds a bike for sale, an 80's KZ1100D. It's immaculate with low miles but has been siting for a while. The owner had a "mechanic" look at it a while ago and it has not run since.
Flash forward to my driveway a few months later--we unload the bike and indeed it looks good, totally complete but with a few blemishes.
I check the oil and connect my jumper pack.
Motor spins freely. Has fuel in tank. The goddamned PO added pod filters so starting fluid here I come. A dash of go-juice, bump the button, it fires right up but only on cyls 1&2. 3 & 4 are not firing, and the valves sound a little noisy, though it runs on its own power and idles---"How bad could it be I think aloud?" How bad could it be indeed.
Naturally I assume it's a case of ethanol fuel and a valve adjust, possibly a bad coil too.
Flash forward to removing the valve cover and what do I find? The horror show beneath the valve cover revealed all in one glance.
The "mechanic" who worked on it last adjusted the valves alright, then he tried to reinstall the cams. In doing so he attempted to over come the valve spring pressure on cyls 3&4 by tightening down the 8mm cam cap bolts until they stripped. The sound that I assumed was in fact a noisy valve...because the cam lobes were smacking the valve cover on 2 cylinders with each rotation. Believe it or not I was able to fix the threads, replace the cam bearings, put it all back together and have it going again. I am so sorry I did not take a photo of that train wreck.
I believe that I am bested by Wolverine or Marquez, alas it may be a tie though.
I have to say, I was on the fence between the tires and the lever. The rear set does indeed take the cake for me. I bet Marquez has a rabbit in the hat still though. I suspect he is searching old photos as we speak.
Let me grace you with this beauty. Gixxer boy decided metal band clamps, zip ties and jb weld would be good enough to hold on his rear sets.
Does that put me in the lead yet?

I have the luxury of not taking in anything I don't want to. I'm not open to the public, its by recommendation or offer only. So I only see truly horrendous work like that on the used bikes some of my folks stupidly buy. Damage or repair stuff, Ya I can post on for days..But sheer stupid stuff like that above...NOPE, NOPE.... Well there was that bike that came in for a big bore & Wide ratio trans gears and I found he had wired up some lights, GPS and other stuff using sections of an orange outdoor extension cords...
