...was not used here. This is a set of carbs off of a 1997 VFR750F which sat for 7 years. This is the first time I've seen green fuel in the bowls. It's hard to see in the photo, but each jet had "coral" growing off of it. These ought to be fun to clean. :rolleyes:

If you are going to try and salvage those jets, go to Napa and get a gallon can with basket of carb clean. This stuff is nasty. Don't put any plastic or rubber parts in it. I use this stuff a lot on really bad carbs.

Another good carb cleaner is in a 32oz bottle from Yamaha. Every tech knows about this stuff. Nothing better for bikes. I use to remove the jets and and place them in the float bowl on a bench vise and use a propane torch to boil the solution. Becareful.... it will catch fire real easy. Your jets will sparkle better than new. It's o-ring safe. On some bike where it just needs a mild clean, turn off the petcock, drain the bowl, add the cleaner through the fuel line and let it sit for a few hours. Drain it out, add fresh fuel and walla! But in this case your gonna need to soak em.

We used to have a sweet 20 gallon sonic cleaner. It used a non-toxic, biodegradable cleaning solution, water and sonic pulses to clean... worked wonders. Of course you'd still have to manually clean all of the small passageways. Thankfully, I'm pretty proficient in carb cleaning... this is the bread and butter of bike flipping. ;)

You could add some water to that varnish and re-varnish some tired cabinets.
