New Ride

I picked up a new ride a couple weeks ago.

I don't plan to get rid of the Superhawk but now I can go back to some stickier tires instead of the PR4's I have been running. I might consider it if I found a good deal on an RC51 though. This one will be a lot better for the 1,000 mile and more weekend trips I have been doing. In a couple of months will probably do an Iron butt. Portland area to Jackson Wyoming thru Boise and Ogden should be 1036 miles. I still like the Superhawk but the mission creep was a problem.

Nice bike Walter.

I also own a VFR800 and ST1100 so my VTR is kept as the short but fun ride machine. I've thought about ergonomic changes but it is so much easier to use my ST when I want to ride non-stop for 8 hours. Nothing produces a grin as quickly on a windy road as the VTR however.

Sweet score! How many miles... what did ya pay?

I have hopes to start weekend long trips as well, most likely with my wife. SuperHawk was definitely not the bike for that so...

I've been spending most of my time on the Multi. The comfort factor is huge. The older we get the more leg room and upright riding position become desirable. The issue in my case is that the amazing Ohlins suspenders and excellent handling have made the Superhawk less than desirable. I've raised my comfort speed by a good 15+ mph on familiar roads.

My boss has a Blackbird too. He hardly ever rides it in favor of the bike with bags (Super Tenere).

Cadbury
I have a 1983 Interceptor with a Lockhart full fairing, 2 into 2 full exhaust, mild port job and Yoshimura stage 1 cams. Bought it new and did the mods myself. Should be close to 100 horsepower now, will put it on a dyno one of these days. Thought about an early VFR800 but they are more than the blackbird at least around here. My riding budy just picked up a 07 ST1300 last week. I know what you mean about the VTR. The first year I had it it never went more than 25 miles from the house and ground up 3 rear and 2 front tires. My 15 mile daily commute had about 3 miles of strait road on it.

Wolverine
It is a 2002 and had 33,750 on it. Got it for $3,300. Appears to be bone stock except a double bubble screen and the rack/top case. Was hoping to pay a bit less but it looks real good, had new PR3's, the box and rack and after the test ride it did not want to start again so they put a brand new battery in it. I found out the sw motech alu rack goes for $197 by itself!

I have wanted one for a long time and was finally able to make it happen. I love this thing. The power below 3,000 is a little softer than I expected but from 4,000 on acceleration is unreal. It will overtake the ST1300 with both bikes in 4th like he is sitting on the shoulder. It feels like it accelerates harder and harder as it gains RPM and will not ever stop building. Cant wait to get someplace I can give it some throttle.

Sounds like a fair deal. Looks to be plenty of room to raise the bars if you choose to. Really reminds me of a Busa minus the ugly tail.
