My winter project

bought an ebay project last summer and spent the winter working on it. It had a reasonable life but then sat neglected for a long time. So the usual things - brakes, lines, tires, chain, tuneup. Found some used FCR carbs and VH pipe and upgraded the coils and rebuilt the forks with gold valves. Only thing left are the shocks but getting good performing replacements is getting harder and harder

Really nice job but I think I would have lost the headlight fairing for a bit more fighter look. The bike looks brand new out of the box.

Very nice!! How does she run? Gotta drag it against the superhawk lol. Bet it wouldn't do too bad.

they're supposed to make about 100hp rear wheel, but they are heavy beasts. Its so cold here I haven't had it out to really road test yet - hoping this weekend. I have the FCR carbs tuned to where it idles well and seems to take throttle very well. the direct slide is really amazing with the response being more like a twostroke dirt bike than the CV carbs. I spent most of my first 20 years of road riding on DOHC hondas (750 and a 900 that I had up until the SH). the 900 especially was a great bike and I'm hoping this is the same.
the looks are decieving with the light reflection - it was obviously garaged but a lot of the paint and clear coat have a lot of sun damage and fine wear scratches - you can see on the side/tail and fairing on the red stripe especially). but not bad and very stock until I got it. With the pipe change I'm estimating I lost about 40 pounds -t he stock dual exhaust was an absolute anchor.

Nice choice for a project. I love those old CBFs. I've had two 750s myself. If you don't already know about it, cb1100f.net is a great resource for those.

Sweet project bike, cliby. I'd love to hear a sound clip of it revving when the photo pops-up. I'll bet she's a screamer!
