Funny that this should come up since I crashed about a week and a half ago riding my K2 Lithium. I think I sprained my left hand and I either bruised or cracked a rib.
The K2 is a 3.0/4.0 modified hybrid. I broke the 4.0's frame and got a 3.0 as a replacement. Since I kept blowing out freehubs it has a DT Swiss 440 FR rear wheel and a Sun Charger front.
I've also got a Kona Coiler that I built from the frame up with an RS Domain fork and Transition Revolution wheels.
And then for smoother trails or the trainer (where it resides now) I've got a hardtail I built up from an older Access frame.

I built my GT Zaskar when I worked at a shop.
XT/XTR group, Marzocchi Z1-X-fly fork, Chris King hubs laced into Mavic 217 CD rims, Chris King headset, Easton carbon bar, Crank Bros egg beaters.
I really need to ride it some more.
Oh yea I still have hurt myself more on the Mtn bike than a motorcycle.
Broken shoulder, broken ribs, and lots of abrasions.

-Klein Pulse Comp built with ful XT (newer stuff), SID XC, rhyno lite rims, Crank Brothers egg beaters/ Speedplay frogs
-Kona Stuff built for park/dirt. (e13 bashguard, park slicks, etc)
-Trek VRX built for freeride/light DH (judy XL, Hope discs)
-Trek road bike...forget exactly which
i agree on needing to pedal more...its hard to get motivated when you can get the same sensations with 996 cc's between your legs

Cannondale Jekyll custom The frame is from a 600 but it was pieced together! I have gotten more road rach from the mtn bike than I have from any motorcycle!!
I also have a 2008 Madone 5.2 that already has over 1000 miles on it!

I have an '05 Specialized Endoro. Great bike.
I went to Northstar Mt. Bike park with my son and a couple of his friends. The place is very rocky and technical. I knew there was a good chance of getting really hurt riding there. I felt pretty lucky not to the time before. I ordered some body armour, but it didn't arrive in time. So I went to the bike shop at Northstar and bought a Fox Launch Suit.
About the 2nd run of the day I just randomly went down in the rocks. Hit my head on the ground and rung my bell and put a nice gash in the hard plastic shoulder pad of my new suit and a hole in my new jersey.
I got up, brushed the dirt off and rode hard the rest of the day. I was feeling it the next day, but without body armour, I would not have ridden away.

I'm still riding my college tranportation (only did some off-roading a couple of times; not very coordinated, so I didn't fair well) - Trek 930, with Manitou Shawn Palmer Ti shock, Kore stem, XT gears, XTR 8-spd pods, nugget-friendly seat, Avid brakes, Mavic cross-country rims, Conti cross-country tires.
