Looking at buying Lincoln LS V8 – anybody with experience?
I’m looking at purchasing a 2005 Lincoln LS V8 and am curious if anyone else out there has experience (good or bad) that they can share as far as service, reliability, maintenance, performance, etc. This is the second generation LS and should have some of the early bugs worked out.
I’ve liked the looks since they came out and it sounds like the V8 puts out some pretty good power and should be fun to drive while still being comfortable (fits into the mid-size luxury sedan class I believe).
Let me know what you guys know or think.
Thanks!

theyre a great car and handle really well, the only downside is that if you blow out say a set of rings, you need to replace the motor. i have 2 buddys who have dealt with these, one of them bought it cause the motor needed rings and he went through hell to rebuild the motor. hes a mechanic so he pulled it apart measured up what he needed and had to custom order parts and for the rings had to file fit a set that were close. other than that great cars and id take one

something about being a jag engine and not being able to buy off the shelf internals for it. i didnt get into the specifics i just know how much both of them bitched. one works for a ford dealer as a mechanic and couldnt track down the parts he needed for it anywhere. other than that i havent heard of them having any issues

Dude, go with a Merc Marauder or a Crown Vic with the sport package. Same car basically as a police cruiser (I've got one by the way, and its totally bulletproof, and cheap to fix) but with the four valve heads and a nice interior.

I am a tech at a for dealership so we do not see to many of them but every time we do the repair is expensive and they are kinda a pain in the butt to work on. I agree with NooB look for a crown vic or Marauder.
