I'm gonna be a Daddy!

After 2 years of trying it finally paid off. Well....you know what I mean. :D

Woke up this morning to the wife telling me the news after taking a test. We took another a while later and same result.

Hoping for a boy but a healthy baby is most important!

On cloud 9 today fellas and wanted to share! Took the hawk out in celebration too :D

zmaniv Feb 20, 2009 12:06 PM

Start stocking up on diapers now.

Moto Man Feb 20, 2009 12:25 PM

Congrats! You will look back at those 2 years of "trying", with envy.

g_clarke_2008 Feb 20, 2009 12:49 PM

Congrats! I wish you all the best

supermonie Feb 20, 2009 01:17 PM

haknslash Feb 20, 2009 01:46 PM

heh... thanks guys!

k-d-williams Feb 20, 2009 02:04 PM

Congrats, enjoy every minute as they get older and know more than you rather quick.

haknslash Feb 20, 2009 02:12 PM

Scary seeing all my friends' kids growing up like little weeds. I feel sorry for the guy coming to my house if it turns out and I have a daughter haha. I can see it now.

Yep, I would make them as uncomfortable as possible when they stopped by. A good mean stare-down works well, you don't have to say a word.

Erik S. Feb 20, 2009 02:24 PM

Congrats Hak! Cherish the moments, they do go by so fast.

haknslash Feb 20, 2009 02:41 PM

So many people are telling me that. I will be sure to remember it as they grow up. Before you know it they are out the door to their own life. I know it seemed that way when I was growing up then left my parents house right after HS what seemed eon's ago. Sigh I'm feeling old again lol.

Anyways thanks for the congrats guys! Just keep us in your prayers we have a safe pregnancy and delivery. I will admit I don't kow what the hell I'm going to do when they ask me to cut the cord. I shit you not I will tell them to go ahead and strap a pillow to my head 'cause I'm going to pass out lol. Hell might just go in there geared up like I'm riding ....just to be safe ya know :D. Seriously I have no idea how I'm going to handle it. Not a big fan of blood, or seeing things in a WHOLLLE different perspective on that day, if you know what I mean :D. But I look forward to day the day we get to hold it. It will probably hit me like a ton of bricks then I'm sure.

VTRsurfer Feb 20, 2009 02:50 PM

:congrats:

I hope you're going to have less than 8 at a time though.

kmm996 Feb 20, 2009 03:51 PM

Congrats...
Mine are 5 (daughter) and 3 (son)
It's funny how you look at things different now...
Wouldn't change it for the world...Even when they're fighting and annoying the hell out of you (like mine are now)

nuhawk Feb 20, 2009 04:03 PM

When they hand you the kid and he reaches up an grabs your thumb - somebody else can cut the cord because that moment is the first between a son and a dad. The rest is just plumbing.

RCVTR Feb 20, 2009 04:13 PM

that's great news! congratulations!

My son is 15. I'm starting to wish he had a little bit less "boy" in him. In the last year, he's had a broken collarbone (mt. bike crash), a concussion (came up short on a backflip on skis), and he's currently on standby because he almost broke both of his legs at the top of his ski boots from landing on his tails in the powder. It's a good thing he's only 15 and this has leaf-springs for shin bones. The doc said he was as close to breaking both legs as you can get wthout doing it.

But I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Enjoy your new adventure!

Congratulations!!

Damn, and I have two GRANDkids! Granted, they're STEP-grandkids, but grandkids nonetheless. The most recent came on Dec. 2nd, 2008. They were living here at the house for a little bit but are moved out back to TN. I nicknamed the youngest "Slobber Bobble". I was actually considering marketing that idea as a doll! heheh :) And no, I don't have any of my own. I don't do the infant/toddler thing very well, and I'm okay with that. The time they were here gave me a whole new perspective on kids that I never had the "opportunity" to experience before. That part of my life experience is now complete and I can comfortably move on, thankyouverymuch.

j shizzy wizzy Feb 20, 2009 04:53 PM

Congrats!!!

HondaJim Feb 20, 2009 05:03 PM

Good thing you got two years woth in before. It don't hurt to hit it while she's preggo either. :)

Congrats. You'll be suprised what you can handle as far as a birth is concerned. It's nothing compared to projectile vomit and green pea poop.

It's all good though, because it's your own blood.

I wondered why you were so cranky lately.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RickB Feb 20, 2009 06:04 PM

Congrats!

comedo Feb 20, 2009 06:16 PM

This is great news! You'll be inundated with advice. I might as well start. If your child's a boy, don't name him Saddam, Osama or Adolph. Get a camcorder so you can record the sound of his or her little voice. Get a digital camera for the Kodak and not so Kodak moments. The list goes on. It could rival an oil thread.

captainchaos Feb 20, 2009 06:36 PM

Congratulations and god bless!

usmc7051 Feb 20, 2009 07:53 PM

Congrats indeed, I have a son (6 months) and a Daughter that will be born on June 18th.

I would recommend buying wipes and diapers now, saves the headache later.

Bikephreak Feb 20, 2009 07:59 PM

Congrats and your a bigger man than me if you cut the cord! I don't even go in for the delivery!
