Could this happen to us?

I've noticed that this site has really slowed down since I first joined. I was on Custom Fighters and saw this. Hope this never happens here.

it's a short run, single model, no longer in production cult bike.. .. the base is small for sure... and those that have one in running condition .. have little to say....

Those that are actively modding, having issues or new to the bike,, they post... so small base, smaller active group posting... just a normal deal with a bike like the SH.

VTR1000F 12-05-2013 07:17 PM

I feel like I'm doing my part. I post about how awesome yellow is every chance I get.

See?

smokinjoe73 12-05-2013 07:46 PM

Nine job vtr, now go have a genny cream ale in celebration.

j shizzy wizzy 12-05-2013 08:08 PM

Ive grown to love the member base, I actually post more about non vtr stuff now a days.

matt365 12-06-2013 04:50 AM

Makes me feel bad for posting up so little recently. This site is a great resource. If it came to it, many of us would donate as site supporters to help out.

NHSH 12-06-2013 06:09 AM

That could be also just a low tide in activity, I noticed the slowdown as well, but I wouldn't be worry about it.

98VTRrider 12-06-2013 06:35 AM

I haven't here, but I noticed the fzrarchives I'm on has been dead the last couple weeks. Busy time or year, I'm sure it's temporary.

I love this forum, and the FZR Archives forum, BECAUSE of their cult following, which makes the forum worthwhile.

Ever join a mainstream forum like ADVrider or a honda civic forum or something? Their full of 100,000 people posting nonsense and not really contributing to the community.

Here at SHF, small enough that there are the dozen or so frequent daily users, it's more of a community where everyone knows everyone. 90% of posts are someone you recognize, unless it's a new user. Then it's the same gang that's always helping the newbies.

These smaller forums have more of a sense of family, I can't stand the more mainstream forums with 100 new threads a day.

insulinboy 12-06-2013 07:07 AM

The YZF forum is VERY slow this time of year as well. And that bike had a much larger production run (95-07 only changing once other than color in 97 to newer styling plastics and ram air intake, otherwise same moto) and has a HUGE following and all kinds of knowledge.

It just goes in swings. And it seems to me the VTR forum is a lot like the YZF forum. some members have moved on to other bikes but hang around because eventually you just become part of the family. I haven't had a YZF in 5 years till just a little bit ago when I got a track bike but continued to be a part of the forum and go to all the group meets at deals gap that I can manage. I'm a photographer so I will sit and hang with other photogs at the dragon and take a few pictures of our group. This coming year will be the first I've participated in as a rider since 05.

I dont think this forum is going anywhere anytime soon

Ahhh for the love of God, please, stop with the yellow !

He has even PM'd me to let me know how fast yellow is

:horse:

Ah what the hell. I'm an indulgent kinda guy. Sure, yellow is kind of somewhat quick. ;)

Until compared to RED

I thought this thread was going to be about economic and social collapse.

I guess we need to post gratuitously and frivolously just to keep the forum alive.

Now THAT right there is funny! :D

It would be cool to see the stats on this site. And if it ever came down to it, I would chip in money to keep the site running as well.

Erik, if we wanted to donate some money to keep this place alive, who do we send it to?

I don't see the difference... once the superhawkforum dies, we all know what's next:
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
A resurgence of the war with England upon which, once loosing, we will be forced to show loyalty to the crown. And I'm not ready to be calling my bike a firestorm just yet.

Somebody had to drag you into the light. Text of the infamous yellow PM follows:

Setting you straight.
As your biker vs Range Rover thread has been closed, I must follow-up via PM to get your mind right once and for all.

Who cares if red is faster than grey or purple or pink or whatever.

All that matters is that yellow is fastest.

Good day sir.

CaryDG 12-06-2013 09:30 AM

VTR, I must concur, as once again the California Highway Patrol verified that Yellow is FAST!

but yellow is the colour of a lemon, (or banana). Yellow might be fast but cops around the globe agree, red is the fastest.

VTR1000F 12-06-2013 04:31 PM

And cops are always right.

Green means go. Red means stop. Yellow means go very fast.

Stop signs are red. Signs warning of excess speed are yellow.

This shit is real simple people.

I'm going to end this here & now. Verified by my personal GPS. I still have it & can show a pic mounted if necessary.

Ignore the mileage and times, I forgot to reset trip several times...

VTR1000F 12-07-2013 12:14 PM

I don't think we can get any more scientifically rigorous than that. Thank God we put that baby to bed.

CruxGNZ 12-07-2013 03:51 PM

Superhawks really CAN fly! :)

RobertLever 12-07-2013 06:54 PM

Did you shoot it out of a cannon?

VTR1000F 12-07-2013 07:00 PM

It's yellow, hello.

davidka 12-07-2013 07:43 PM

C'mon now, everybody knows red is the hot/fast color. Ask Ferrari.;-)

I concur!!! You must agree that Red is Hotter color, imagine same woman in Yellow or Red, which one would you pick? ;)(for the ladies among us, it's just a compliment)

Not if they are wearing yellow though!

RobertLever 12-08-2013 07:40 AM

Obviously, Ferrari ran dyno tests in the '50s which proved that just painting the car red added 3% horsepower.
Ducati repeated these tests and discovered that the brighter the red the more powerful the bike was.
Honda was merely following Ducati' lead in painting the SH Italian Red.
You can look it up on Wikipedia just as soon as I post it there.;)

VTR1000F 12-08-2013 10:38 AM

Would you guys quit posting about red? It's getting old.
