I hope you return to your house with everything intact. I see smoke in the distance around here, but I’m not really in a fire zone. I went for a ride on Old Topanga Road Sunday morning. Apparently they closed that road shortly after.

The relative unpredictability of these fire paths and ensuing evacuations is very similar to hurricanes with us living near the coasts. I truly empathize with you. Good luck.

I think my cousin lost his house in the fire.

Hope no one else has to lose theirs.

I thought we were going to evacuate early this morning. One of the mountains (San Miguel) about 8 miles from where I live (and 1 mile from the gym I go to) was lit up.

My prayers go out to all.

Funny though, as my wife and I were planning our escape and what to take, I did not really think about all my motorcycles, and 4 years ago, during the Cedar fire, I helped by picking up and storing 4 motorcycles from fellow riders who had to evacuate.

The fires are not over yet (as of Tuesday night), but now that I realize the devastation, and had time to think about it, if I had to evacuate, I think I would take both my Superhawks and then try to fit my Suzuki in as well. The 2 little 250's would have to be left behind.

If any San Diego Superhawkers need help right now, please let me know and I will do what I can.

Thanks to HSC-85, HSC-21, skycranes, hueys and any helo droppin water on mt miguel. they saved Spring Valley! i'm sorry for those who lost homes and loved ones. if anyone in san diego needs help pm me. i left behind a cbr600 f3 and kx250, not enough room on my truck. but i'm home now thanks to those emergency responders. i feel very lucky but feel bad for those who lost everything.
