Back On The Road

Howdy everyone. Just posting to re-introduce myself. After about 2 years of non-use, I finally have my superhawk back on the road. I went through divorce and a couple different moves where no garage was available, so the bike sat in storage for WAY too long. I took it to a local shop and had the carbs re-built, including new/proper jetting. I've never touched the carbs before, but apparently the PO didn't know much about what they were doing. All good now and I'm looking forward to some riding time. I still have a few things to get done to it, like new chain and sprockets, bar ends and perhaps fresh shoes.

In the mean time, I've been riding my C10 Concours along with a Nomad which I now have. I bought a C14 Concours, but sold it. too big and didn't handle well enough. I also have a fresh new garage that I spent about 3 months building on the house I bought. Oh...and fixing my boat too. Needless to say, it's been a busy few years.

Welcome back, sounds like you had a long road...

yep, and still more to do, but it's nice to have the wheels rolling again. On top of the updates with the hawk, I have bearing replacements planned for the C10. steering stem, front wheel, rear wheel, and swingarm. May do the same with the hawk at some point. no rest for the wicked! :D

Hopefully the previous owner didn't have Hawk's carb mods already done, including the HRC slide epoxy mod... ???

Welcome back.

Can't keep a VTR man down, judging by your post count you were active on here.

Hope you enjoy the bike and hang around.

Welcome back!

No. actually the mods to the carb were limited, but wrong. the main thing was new jets which were the same size in both carbs. at least now I know they are "right". not sure what it's done to fuel mileage but after some further cleanup I'll get it back on the road more to find out. Right now I'm doing bearings on the Concours so the hawk will have to wait another week.
