Air conditioning question
Have a GE capacitor that went bad on my home air conditioner. The specs are 45 uf (microfarads) on the compressor terminal, 5 uf on the fan terminal, 370 voltage. Am I able to substitute a borrowed GE capacitor with 55 uf on the compressor side, 7.5 uf on the fan, also 370 voltage without doing any damage? Ordered the new part ($29 shipped but have to wait a couple days as opposed to over $300 for the friendly local ac guy to turn two screws and plug in a few wires). Thanks for your help (it's hot here ;) )
