Thats sick. My 11 year old wants to drive the LS Miata to school when he starts driving. I told him I'd rather let him play with a loaded gun!
Dont get me wrong, my kid has had a dirt bike since he was 4 and a quad since he was 8. I picked up a corvette body go-cart for him a couple years ago too, but I dont think I would put him behind the wheel of a buggy like that. Too many things can go wrong. The cage would protect him but what about bystanders? Worst thing I saw in that was thet he didnt have eye protection. Would you ride your Hawk in dusty/sandy conditions without at least glasses on?

You might want to rethink the Miata. Teens tend to get in trouble when they have other kids in the car. Two seats will limit that. My son (16) wants a used mustang - kind of hard to push back when my first was a '67 coupe with a 289ci 4 barrel. I'm trying to nudge him to a Miata. Plenty nice used examples, relatively low power, handles great, decent gas mileage.
